I disagree. Try couple series to check it for yourself. There is some obvious problems (originally TV in 4:3), but nothing too serious. I like quality of 1080p release.

Many of cheap special effects looks cheap in original 4:3 version.

Maybe. But i really find widescreen picture nice. Anyway, you can try one episode for yourself.
