Rights holders find the links and report them to mega for DMCA/Copyright infringement who then disable the link or remove the files (sometimes both). It's more secure from a user standpoint because there isn't anyone eavesdropping on Mega/Zippys servers waiting for people to download so they can catch their IP.

Just like everyone else does - base64 decode them, follow the links to snahp.it, or have scrapers go over the sub. You can't truly hide the links unless you either a) PM them to other members or b) use MegaDownloader's steganography encryption.

I used steganography back when MegaDownloader was able to bypass the bandwidth limit and never had any files taken down. only downside was that it wasn't mac/linux compatible which rubbed a few people the wrong way.
