I liked it. But I am biased, since John Hurt plays Winston. And perhaps because 1984 is one of my most loved books.

However, you cannot expect much. For a movie to pay half respect to the book, it would need to be some 10 hours. It is a good movie. But only the book is truly great.

It is best to read (or listen to (later on I will upload the audiobook) ) the book, then watch the movie.

Yup. I read or listen to 1984 atleast once a year. What an amazing read. And yeah, adapting books to the screen is always tough, but from what I've heard it's pretty good.

Me too, I listen around once a year. It is one of the very very few fictions that I really like. Soon I will upload my audio version of it. Maybe some more humans can be infected by his prophetic ideas. What a story. If they said that George Orwell was an E.T. I would have believed it. How could someone arrive at those ideas?! Some people should never die. While others, shit, they live freaking long lives.
