Neat (not being smug or sarcastic, I find your honesty genuinely admirable).
I'm sure you've learned by now, but a Bluray disc is just a newer physical format that allows higher quality image and audio than a DVD. As for the terms as they relate to video uploads, there's a list around here somewhere that describes all the differences between the many different types.
Wikipedia has an article on it, though.
