[Wyatt Earp](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wyatt_Earp_(film)) is a 1994 Western semi-biographical epic that was a box office bomb. It premiered six months after Tombstone with a 3 hour and 10 minute run time and it told roughly the same story with less energy and more contemplation and audiences stayed away in droves. In 2013 the director, Lawrence Kasdan, was interviewed on stage and discussed his love of the genre and his loves and regrets of the movie.

This movie features my favourite performance from Dennis Quaid. His transformation into Doc Holliday is complete and despite having his name on the poster I didn't discover it was Dennis until a week after I'd first seen the movie. It is an outstanding performance and one that he deserves more recognition for.

The score was composed by James Newton Howard and it is outstanding. The flac rip included is of the La-La Land Records 3-CD release.

If you're like me your first thought at seeing this post is to wonder how a 3-hour movie can be crunched down to 5GB and not look lousy. I also did a 10GB rip of the same disc and after looking at both rips I settled on this one and I chose it because I couldn't tell the difference between the two. Here is a comparison of 3 screenshots from this 5GB rip and the source blu-ray. Have a look and decide for yourself.

VLC Player sometimes does not like this format. When it doesn't you will get sound but no picture (or a green screen.) If this happens to you, try using a Nightly build. Or try using Media Player Classic. If that fails, change MPC's renderer and then restart the player.
Users have reported that Kodi will play these files and that Strawberry Pi will not.

Thanks for this. I just wish they would release the directors cut so I could see that again. Its adds 21 more minutes and it makes a great movie even better.

You're welcome. They did release an extended cut in widescreen on vhs and it was an unhappy surprise when the dvd and then the blu-ray had only the theatrical cut and were so threadbare for extras.
