(ugly crying) 1080??? I've had this in 720p BD for years....I hope this is Bluray. If it's blue ray or not I wish someone would tell me....
(So...ep 6 is wrong....the one that says Directors cut is actually the original version and the other one is the real directors cut. The one with the pixelated nudity joke with Kamina.) Still can't tell if this is the BD version....the color is more vibrant in this version when I compare it to my 720p version.

I'm pretty sure that this is the blu-ray, however it appears to be the filtered version from Moozzi2 who filtered the anime to enhance the sharpness and vibrancy of the colors. The original blu-ray was a pretty bad 720p to 1080p upscale so 1080p releases were pretty pointless, this one is pretty good though. I'm going to be using it for my rewatch.
Here are some comparisons from the Moozzi2 encode compared to the Blu-ray.

Thanks for the heads ups. There's one weird thing though...when I do frame by frame for screenshots there's a weird fuzz I'm getting in some frames.
Like one part of the picture looks clear and clean but then if u look closely to I dunno...a part of Yoko's thigh for example or a mecha's arm. Looks like the screen is tearing. It's especially noticible in the last episode fight. Not in the other episodes though much... Might be the encode or my computer or VLC...I dunno.

Not entirely sure, but it's probably the encode, I just took a look at the final fight and noticed a lot of compression artifacts due to not having enough bitrate. This encode uses 2pass at 1220 avg bitrate to hit the 250MB/ep which causes some episodes with a lot of action or high detail scenes to be noticeably worse quality than others. x265s artifacts tend to have a fuzzy/blurriness to them often to try to make them less noticeable compared to x264 artifacts. However, I know a lot of encoders recommend not using VLC, and instead recommend using MPV/MPVNET or MPC-HC/BE + madVR and PotPlayer over VLC, but I've never seen many issues really with using VLC. I use MPC-HC+madVR from the K-Lite Mega Codec pack because of all the options madVR brings, but MPVNET is my second favorite for the pure simplicity while also maintaining the high quality of madVR. Though I mostly watch anime on my phone with MXPlayer. I'd recommend trying one of the other options, probably MPV/MPVNET and try to check the same or similar frames to see if the artifacts are still the same.
