Synopsis
It has been a month since a comet that visits the Earth every thousand years was seen from Japan. Mitsuha is a student who laments her life in the countryside with her little sister, her grandmother and her father, a politician she never sees. He detests the picturesque customs of his family and dreams of the wonderful lifestyle of the people of Tokyo. For his part, Taki is a student who lives in Tokyo, has a part-time job in an Italian restaurant and needs to get away from his family. One night, Mitsuha dreams that he is a boy from Tokyo and Taki dreams that she is a girl who lives in the country. What is the secret behind the dreams of two people who, despite not knowing each other, seem desperately searching for each other?
FYI, this film was only mastered in 1080p, so the 4k release is an upscale. May have slightly better compression and colors than a 1080p bluray though.

Both links you posted say it's a 2k master, not 1080p.
Did you even read the threads? They say it's 1080p many times in the Blu-ray.com thread and the post from the phileweb thread that's linked says it's 1080p. And when phileweb says 2K they're talking about 1080p.

The MEGA links have parts 2-256 but not part 1, is this a problem on my end?
Oops! I knew I was missing something.

any way to download this without clicking every individual link...?
why the fuck did you upload this in like 240 pieces
I tried to upload to zippyshare and trying to find where the missing files are at.
It took me longer to sit there and click on every mega link than it wouldve to download the full 50gb movie in full

next time highlight all of the links and select copy, it will populate a single DL if you use Jdownloader, or megadownloader, which you can set to automatically extract. though 255 links is a bit absurd if you're using mega.
Edit: actually when I went to DL it, jdownloader warned me some were missing, and asked if I was sure I wanted to DL it. fuck that. OP this is on you.
Hell, 6 hours laters the damn thing just finished downloading but hasnt extracted yet. And not to mention that you labelled every piece with such a long fucking name that mega would not display the full title, so its impossible to tell which section is what
Just extracted it, and it doesnt even play correctly. The screen turns completely gray every few seconds. Such as this
If your tv is 4K hdr compatible there is no need to use VLC. Use a USB and play it directly
I've tried putting this exact video file onto an external hdd and plugging it into my Samsung KS8000 but the audio lags while playing the video. It's the only hdr video I've yet to download that has this issue when playing from the TV. it doesn't lag in Windows 10 but I can't get the HDR to work in Windows 10 even when using madVR and MHC-HC. It will enable HDR but the colors are still bland.
I even took photos with my phone to show how washed out the colors are on windows compared to playing through the TV's OS.
Here is an image of it running on Windows 10 https://image.ibb.co/kcTYax/b_1.jpg
And here is it running on the TV's OS https://image.ibb.co/hhPvoH/q_1.jpg
Here is another running on Windows 10 https://image.ibb.co/eAKvoH/b_2.jpg
And now the TV's OS https://image.ibb.co/nx8ANc/a_2.jpg

Don’t whatever you do visit /r/datahoarder
It's a remux, basically it's taken straight from source with minimal processing or compression. Some people like having it for quality or archival purposes.

Some people have insane Internet speed and enjoy high quality
I agree, it's crazy excessive. I feel like 50gb for a season of a show I like is really pushing it, so I can't imagine it for something 10x shorter...especially for an anime film, it looks amazingly beautiful but at the end of the day, it can never be as detailed as actual film. It just becomes redundant after a certain point, unless the drawings are super intricate with tiny details and you're sitting a foot from your TV to appreciate the small details.
