D.A.R.Y.L. is a 1985 science fiction film, although I have trouble calling it that as there's barely any sci-fi in it (this is not a complaint.) It's another echo of the early 80s imagining of computers and digital technology that also gave us Knight Rider and Explorers - solder a few circuit boards to your Big Wheels and suddenly it can fly and shoot lasers. It is also the movie that introduced me to the SR-71 Blackbird which plays a critical role in the film's climax - remember to bring some Hubba Bubba.
D.A.R.Y.L. is remembered as a children's movie but it stands as a shining example of how much coarser the North American attitude towards children's movies was at the time (television was a different story). One ten year old character casually says, "shit," about a dozen times and nicknames his older sister, "Hookie," short for Hooker and later says when her date drops her off, "He's practically raping her... except she's co-operating."
They don't make 'em like they used to.
The score is by legendary composer Marvin Hamlisch and is warmly Americana in tone. The included tracks appear to be a rip of the 2014 La-La Land Records release.
The soundtrack is 320kb/s mp3
This rip is a recode of an 11.4GB x264 rip whose author didn't tag it.

Why 12bit? Only computers support 12bit hardware decoding, everything else will have to do this in software and will lose any of the reasons you picked 12bit. It may seem like I am complaining, I'm just wondering why you chose 12bit over 10bit, which has tonnes of hardware support.
People are reporting that Kodi plays it as well.
I get variations of this question on almost every post. The intent is to minimize quality loss. I'm shrinking things by up to 80% and I want them to look as good as they can. If they won't play for some people, that's unfortunate. It means the rip isn't intended for them.

Well kodi will play it, just it will play it in software mode and not use the hardware of whatever device it is on, and if it's an android device there is the possibility it will lag to shit for them.
But, I will be honest, I like your attitude. Carry on your awesome work, and thank you for the truth. I look forward to more of your work! I wish more people had the balls you do.

I couldn't get this to play on any device. Cant rencode with Handbrake either?
What devices did you try it on?
[-] sirnickles | 1 points
PC and Mac and I tried to rencode it. My Plex server doesn’t handle HEVC well. Thanks tho!
you need the newest nightly of VLC to be able to play it, you can re-encode it with XviD4PSP if you wish.

Thanks for the tip!

I had to re-encode it with HD Video Converter because I have an antique Plex server. Works like a charm now. Good Luck
