Download limit appears to be temporarily gone.
[-] RhubarbGin | 7 points
I downloaded 250 gb in less than two hours (blue planet 4k rips and the quantum leap rips) no constraints average 12 megs a seconds
[-] GoslingIchi | 1 points
I almost ran into a storage issue since I figured this long list of downloads would stop every 5 GB, but it's just going and going...
edit - I just pulled down 29.85 GB according to Megasync, before the limit kicked back in.
Does anyone know of a site that posts good music links with Mega? (r/megamusic is mostly requests). I'm looking for something similar to newalbumreleases.net but with Mega instead of rapidgator/uploaded.
Anyone else have this issue with jdownloader? Just saw it on the zippy sub and I thought I’d pass it along here.
How payment method does everyone here use for MEGA? I want an account for [mainly] backup purposes, but occasionally potentially sharing as well. Is it 'safe' to just throw in my real name and credit card information or will the DMCA come break down my door?

Why do people use Mega and not GDrive? AFAIK, the bandwidth limit practically doesn't exist on GDrive(it's something around 1TB/day), and Google gives you the same amount of space for a free account.
[-] igotsomegreypoupon | 13 points
GDrive locks downloads if they use up too much traffic.

Thanks.

How reputable is UpToBox? I see links being included in a handful of posts here and there and they work quite well. Is this approved by the mods? I've never heard of the website before.
[-] igotsomegreypoupon | 8 points
there aren't really any restrictions on what hosts you can use provided they don't let you directly monetize your upload (eg: you get paid x amount for every 1000 downloads). uptobox is good when they're running their "happy hour" specials that removes speed restrictions.
I have downloaded a lot from uptobox.They only let you download one file every 1-2 hours.Download speeds are ok but not great but you do not need an account to download from them.Similar to 1fichier,filefactory,openload,clicknupload,userscloud etc.It is hard to find files sometimes.You need to use all the resources available & while nowhere near as fast as mega & zippy,uptobox is useful..

Ahh okay thanks, I did notice the speed get really bad at times, but useful when the alternatives are not available. Thanks for the insight

General 4K question!
Wanna know if I can play 4K content using this method (my Tivo doesn't support 4K, nor does my bluray). Can I simply download a 4K TV episode for example on my laptop, then hook up an HDMI from computer to TV, and that'll be 4K? Or will that not work? Does the HDMI cable need to be 'new'? Or does my laptop have to have certain specs?
Can your laptop output a resolution of 3840 pixels × 2160?If not,no.If you have a 4k tv it should be able to play 4k files directly off a usb drive or external harddrive though the built in media player.

Almost. I’m getting there.

Is there any difference in the sources of 4K movies that they use for the Remuxes?
What I want to know is, why does the color of the FGT's Remux look color losing? in comparison with the FraMeSToR's one
[Interstellar.2014.BluRay.2160p.REMUX-FraMeSToR] (https://beyondhd.co/image/bENZN)
And
[Interstellar.2014.2160p.BluRay.REMUX-FGT] (https://cdn.imagecurl.com/images/75135888337398702888.png)
So I made a little bookmarklet for Chrome to make decoding base64 links easier.
javascript: {
const selectedText = window.getSelection().toString();
try {
const plainText = atob(selectedText);
let goToURL = prompt('The following selection was converted from base64 to text. Would you like to visit it as a URL?', plainText);
if (goToURL) window.open(goToURL);
} catch (e) {
alert(`The selected text was not correctly encoded in base64:\n${selectedText}`)
}
}
The way you use bookmarklets is you just copy/paste the above into the URL of a bookmark on your bookmark toolbar. The name of the bookmark can be anything, but probably something like "base64 decoder". The way you use this particular bookmarklet is you highlight the base64 string on a webpage, then click the bookmarklet and it'll show you the plaintext in an alert window and let you visit it if you hit "OK".
If it's an encoded key or non-url, you can copy it from the alert window and hit "Cancel".
[-] Kill_Me_Now_World | 1 points
Would this work on safari?
[-] Sunny_Cakes | 1 points
Try this
javascript:try{var a=prompt("Enter base64 string: ");null!==a&&console.log(prompt("Plain text string:",atob(a)))}catch(b){alert(b.message)};
it brings up a dialog box to enter text into

I tried importing a folder into my account, but Mega said NO! 'cuz it will take you over your limit.
Did they change/fix that 'bug' where you could import and over stuff your account?
Use megasync, while the account to which you are importing the files has less than 50GB used.

I love that older and less popular movies are posted. It gives me access to lost treasures. Can we attack on the description what Rotten Tomatoes gives it? O hate having to open the browser to check if it's worth downloading or not.
Need a bit of help.
I current use a hard drive to play my media on my TV (2016 Samsung KS8000). Everything runs fine but I'm noticing a fair few of the 4K Remux files from snaph.it stutter (audio out of sync, frame skips and pixelation). Only some of the recent 4K remuxes seem to do this (e.g. blade runner 2049, dunkirk, inception).
Does anyone what might be the issue, is it the TV unable to handle high bitrates or the hard drive? or another cause?
Thanks for the help.
EDIT: I initially thought it may have something to do with file size or bit rate as I noticed it with Nolan films (Big files, Real 4K), however John Wick 2 (71Gb, 77.9 Mb/s) plays fine and X-Men apocalypse (42.6Gb, 35Mb/s) stutters. I wonder if it is to do with the encoders?
[-] GoslingIchi | 1 points
Use MediaInfo to look at what you're trying to play and see if there's a pattern to what stumbles and what plays fine.
Also, from what I recall reading at AVS forums, Samsung sometimes doesn't fully implement things, but they implement it enough to mark a check box for marketing. So it's possible that a partial implementation of something is causing an issue.
[-] GoslingIchi | 1 points
Also, if you register at AVS Forum, you can search this humongous thread for something related to your issue. Don't mention any funny stuff!

Could we do a sticky containing films that are currently nominated for Oscars? It would be nice to be able to track down some of the more obscure titles without having to search all over the place.
