tom cruise is a fucking nutcase, and the film was a bit cliche in parts but it was a damn good watch, i loved it in cinemas. There's not many films that cover that era/genre(in the west)

The funny thing is, the title "The Last Samurai" is not singular, it's actually the plural form in this use. So the movie title is about the last samurai(s) that Tom Cruise's character stands together with, as they are the last samurai clan holding out from the Westernized government that has outlawed their kind.

People really assume too much nowadays.
