Same way as on a PC. Either reset your internet connection to get a new IP by turning your modem off and back on or connect to a VPN so you receive a different IP.

I use JDownloader2 on my PC and Mac to download from Mega. You need to install Java first to use it though. Glad the alt link worked for you but see if you can get JDownloader2 working for future.

I use JD2 but I always come across the download limit. Do I need to alter any script?
No when you hit the download limit just reconnect the internet or connect to a different VPN and then right click your download in JD2 and press Force Download
