Does anyone have a link to the non-extended blu ray versions of this trilogy? these extended versions are too long for me and I'm not a die hard hard of LOTR anyways but unfortunately most versions online are the extended ones...

Is there an easy/best way to combine each movie into one file? This does not play nice with my Plex library. Or a way to get plex to treat it as one movie? Any help would be much appreciated. I already own these physical and digital, but this cuts down on storage size big time.

Thanks!

I know this is late but you could either combine them with MKV ToolNix or put a -part1 and -part2 and the end of the filenames to have plex play them together.

Do you put the -part1 and -part2 after the year in brackets or before when using the syntax plex prefers?

It should be the very last thing before the file extension.

i.e. The Godfather (1972)-part1.mkv and The Godfather (1972)-part2.mkv

Plex will show that as one movie and play both files seamlessly when you select the godfather in Plex.

Awesome man! Thanks for sharing! Previously I found another version of the movie or I waited and replaced it when someone posted it as one file later.

While we are on the subject of plex, one other thing that bugs me is how to label TV show episodes and get it to play correctly when two episodes are combined? With some 90s cartoons where the episodes were short, the files are combined so each file has two episodes so it runs around 22/24 minutes or so total. But I cannot get it to name right with filebot program (if I have 10 files which are 20 episodes, it can only auto name each one after one episode, so you essentially are missing half the names, another issue I haven't figured out how to solve so I do then manually), and even if I manually name them plex recognizes it as only one episode not two.

It needs to be named something like this:

Bob's Burgers S08E06-E07 - Bleakening Part 1 & Bleakening Part 2.mkv

The Gifted S01E12-E13 - eXtraction & X-roads.mp4

etc

When you navigate to that episode in Plex it will show it as two different episodes, but selecting either one of them will play the same file.

So if you just name your raw file as, for example, Bobs.Burgers.S08E06-E07.blah.blah.blah.mkv then filebot will recognize it as a multi episode file and name it accordingly. I have several files like this and they all work no problem.

What steps do you take in filebot to make that work? Mine always names the first one episode 1, second set of episodes epidose 2 and so on. And if you pull from the database and copy over it doesn't match to start with because the database always has individual episodes.

I have it setup so when I pick how to match I have a preset named plex movies and plex TV that is preset with the syntax {plex} and then the movie or TV database. It recognizes what plex means and puts it in the right syntax. Last year when I looked up how to do plex formatting right that was how the filebot forum managers / designers said to do it.
