[PSA] Regarding previous message about thinfi (it's fixed)

Yesterday /u/sosoandless made a post about thinfi.com not working. He's not alone and I've been overwhelmed with similar questions about this during the last 48 hours so I thought I should clarify.

Thinfi hasn't and isn't changing. The site was down for maintenance while I upgraded it to be in line with the latest software and I used a login system to stop unauthorized access during the update. Unfortunately it took longer than expected and in hindsight it wasn't handled properly. I apologize for any inconvenience the downtime caused.

This summer thinfi will become 10 years with more visitors than ever which I'm very grateful for. The only planned change in 2018 is a replacement of the current reCAPTCHA with the new Invisible reCAPTCHA. It's a simple programming update so it will not cause any downtime and will not be noticeable for end users but it should remove the checkbox for anyone creating new links. It needs to be beta tested first though so I can't guarantee that it will be implemented. No other major changes unless it would improve the site for the users such as when I implemented SSL early this year or when I removed most of the ads.

I prefer to keep it simple but feel free to contact me if you have any feature requests which would improve the site for a majority of the users.
