This seems super neat, but putting on my lamewad cap for a second, what do I do with this M4B file? Is there a way to chop it into MP3s? Do I need some proprietary Audible software to listen? Please advise.

Which platform are you on (android, windows, apple). An m4b is kinda like mp3 but not all software recognise it.

I know that vlc has a lot of bugs. Try using vlc nightly.

I personally use daum pot player on my pc which plays the files perfectly with chapters and all.

On ios, you may want to download another audio book player. I don't have an iPhone so r/Piracy could help you with that.
