Should I be worried if people are pming me asking for direct links to my upload? It's just weird. Two different accounts pmed me within like 5 hours of each other today, both on accounts with very low post and comment counts.
My post is almost a week old by now.
I just don't wanna lose my link, have to re-upload (cause it was yuge) or get vanned haha

if you have provided enough info on your uploads dont reply.

I've noticed people like u/iPhunwa2 have always posted content from iTunes and Amazon. What program do you use to rip the video from the site?
[-] doot_doot_doot_doo | 6 points
look closely at what he posts. Most/much/all of it is from release groups. Basically he's on some private trackers with fast connection and gets stuff stupidly fast
Can't stream or download anything at all right now. I haven't used mega in about 5 days, yet as soon as I start a stream the bandwidth exceeded limit pops up. Fired up the VPN, same thing. Different location on the VPN, same thing. Something's not right.

I am also facing the same issue. Couldn't find the solution anywhere.
Anyone know when Blade runner is coming out?

This question has most likely already been answered, but how do you get around the limits for downloading on mega?
Megadownloader seems to still be able to get around the bandwidth limit.Just copy the megalinks when it is open & it will offer to download them for you.It is pretty much the only way I download anything from Mega these days.Much less hassle.Particularly for files over 5g.
I've used that for a long time but I'm only able to go over 5g, if like I have 4.5g complete and start a new file which would push me over 5g. Same with if I'm at 0 and start a file which is over 5g, it will go above the limit.
I have Windscribe pro version and whenever I get hit with the mega download limit I change the location on VPN. They also have a free version that has a few locations and worked for me before I upgraded. Give it a try
[-] Lastkowitz | 1 points
I looked up windscript. I was wondering, with the inevitable death of net neutrality next month, would a VPN get around the limits that internet providers are undoubtedly going to put on stuff? If so, I'd buy the yearly VPN in a second. Do you know if this will help? Also, I'm rather a noob when it comes to VPNs, would this work for torrents as well?

ISP's can see the is encrypted data and not let it through thus blocking vpns
[-] doot_doot_doot_doo | 1 points
I mean they could do that, but they almost certainly won't.
At this point almost every major (competent) business/corporation employs vpn to allow remote access to their private networks. If ISPs start blanket blocking all encrypted traffic, that'd piss off and fuck up so many of the wrong people across countless industries that the ISPs would be pretty much fucked if they ever asked for any type of outside help.

Whats the best Handbrake settings for DVDs? Especially for Old TV shows that are in SD format.
I usually use Fast480 or Very Fast 480, x264 (or 265 if you are trying to save a little space, and compatiblity isn't an issue), Quality at 20 or 22 (I tend towards 22) and of course making sure you have any audio/subtitle tracks added that you want.
For a typical episode (half hour format) I get around 175 to 250MB per episode, hardly noticeable change in quality for a reasonably quick conversion.
You can setting your Quality down a bit lower(lower in this case means better) and go with a slower encode to give you smaller file at the cost of extra time, of course.

I'm having serious downloading issues when using mega. Some files I can't seem to be able to download and even when I try downloading them "manually" via the browser it says that there has been a temporary issue and I should try again.
Is anyone else having the same problem and is there a solution for this? Or is it mega that's having problems? Would really appreciate some help :)

anyone know of a way to schedule speed limit enforcement in jd2?
I'm looking to have it enforce based on time of day/periods of the day but not seeing any settings nor in my google searches
[-] doot_doot_doot_doo | 1 points
as a follow up, i ended up enforcing jd2 being killed during specific periods of the day via external scripts.
So instead of enforcing speed limits around the clock, it simply prevents jd2 from running during specific periods of my day. Ultimately i found this to be a good enough solution for my problem.
The script checks for the time and if the hours falls between a certain period it checks for/kills jd2 if necessary and then sleeps for an hour. Rinse repeat till it fails the hour check then fires up jd2 again

Can someone please help me, i accidentally deleted a file in task manager, if i remember correcter it was some java file, maybe java server or java installer, but after i accidentally deleted it my download speed on mega download went down to 0, i tried re downloading, restarting, and turning off everything to no avail. If anyone knows a fix please let me know. This is on megadownloader.
Task Manager kills apps and processes. You'd have to do some digging to delete a file from there.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the mega client.
[-] Sassymewmew | 1 points
Already did that, didn't work, I'm just using a different client now
Hi. I'm new here and there's a lot of amazing stuff I'd like to download.
But I don't know how does this whole thing work?. It seems a bit complicated. Can anyone help me here?
Thanks.
The subreddit is a place for peope to post links to content on megaupload. Sometimes they will post links to the same file on mega and other hosting sites like Zippyshare.
People do not want to post the actual link so they conceal them. Some use base64encode.org, some post their links to snahp.it which requires either a password or a captcha before showing the link but the point is you have to go through a simple step or two to get the link you want.
Mega has a daily download limit of something like 5GB for free users, but there are ways of getting around it. For example, users on DSL with Pppoe who live outside the US can reset their modems to get a new IP and reset the cap. Zippyshare does not have a daily cap (afaik).
And that's it. Pick a file, descramble the link and go. Leave a Like or a comment for the uploader. And don't be shy about asking for help if something goes wrong or a link is dead.
[-] plentyofishes | 2 points
What's the most recent way of getting around the bandwidth issue? Got some unlimited data on my hands but sadly cannot try the reset the IP option. Tried using MiPony but the speeds didn't go over 500KBps. Usually get a standard download speed of 2-3MBps
Try megadownloader & try to start as many downloads,at once,as it will handle.Once the downloads start they will finish as megadownloader only seems to check the bandwidths when it starts downloading the files.
[-] plentyofishes | 1 points
Added 50GB worth of content to download. A few files have downloaded while the rest are cycling in ERROR mode.
EDIT - Using Psiphon now. Downloads are running fine but at low speeds of 300KBps
EDIT 2 - Disconnected from Psiphon once the download is stable. Speeds picked up to 5MBps+. It's working great now.
[-] simplefilmreviews | 1 points
I'm confused, how does this work exactly? So say I wanna download 3 movies (roughly 7GB each). You're saying quickly add all three and it will bypass the limit on Megadownloader?!
(Backpacking off this convo, sorry!)
Yes.Start all three downloads at once.If they start they should finish without any bandwidth issues.
[-] simplefilmreviews | 1 points
Whoa that's crazy! I'll have to try! Thanks for the tip
[-] doot_doot_doot_doo | 2 points
May seem odd/random but any thoughts about putting a 5+GB tag/flair as a way of posters (and searches) to find the uploads that are 5+GB? Neither jd2 or megadl will start those downloads for me (I know those tools have worked for others, so i dunno), so I've got to use Megasync to grab them.
Just a thought since I've got to pull down that content slightly differently than I pull down the rest as a non-paid Mega user.
Any free (or mod) music app that supports offline downloading
[-] simplefilmreviews | 3 points
offline downloading
How's that work?
Well, for example apps like musicall,fildo...These apps provide downloading. so, U can listen to songs when u are offline. Sadly, both apps have terrible UI and their music database is limited.

i heard it stopped working?
I've been getting "error - file not copied" when i try to import into my mega account. Not sure what i did wrong. Does anyone encounter this problem?
Ive emailed mega help but didnt get any reoly.
Can anyone please advice?
i've recently started getting a pop-up when I try to download stating that I can not download the file in chrome because it is "Too big" and I need to download and install a megalink desktop application. I've never had to do this before, have not previously had to create a megalink account, and have previously downloaded much larger files without having to do this. Is there anyway to get around this without having to download some possibly sleazy application and create a megalinks account?
I've actually had way more luck with successful downloads since getting the desktop client.

Can I ask why? Not being snarky, just curious.
I would tend to think you'd wanna go from source to x265 since you're already taking some amount of quality hit on the source to x264 conversion.
Alternatively, you can try searching out/requesting for the content in x265 as there's a good chance someone out there has already done it.
On the flip side, I can understand the desire to do it yourself so you don't gotta go searching for things left and right.

no, that's totally reasonable. And yeah, I agree shows are a bear in x264. I've got a ton of space and typically prefer x264 over x265 but for shows that go beyond 2 or 3 seasons I almost always grab x265 just because of how much smaller the footprint will be. Are these hard to find/replace shows? If the shows are long enough (season/ep wise) it may take a comical amount of processing time to do the conversion and you may be better off finding or requesting an x265 upload of hte show.
you mind listing what show it is?

I usually use Wondershare Video Converter to convert my .mkv files to .mp4. You can use it to convert the files to HEVC.
Here's the link if you want to try.
So, when I use megadownloader for a particularly large download it causes my WiFi to go out. Like legit stop it and it comes back up and so on. The machine is not even connected via WiFi either. Anyone else have a weird issue like this?
Megadownloader seems to use every last bit of the available bandwidth if you are on adsl.I suspect your wifi stops working because there is no bandwidth left for it to use.Try limiting the download speed in options/configuration/limit download speed to....& see if you wifi works when you have left some bandwidth for it.
I used to have that happen but it was causing the WAN connection to reset. It left the network alone. This was actually somewhat helpful because it would change my ip for me and reset the cap, except it would strike at random and kill browsing if I was online at the time. I throttled the client and it hasn't happened since.
You could look at the router log and see what it reports. Mine was flooded with this:
14:49:08 2017 [Message:399]can't open /proc/net/igmp6: Too many open files
I didn't find a clear solution after Googling so I throttled instead. Maybe you'll have better luck with it.

I'm having issues with megadownloader at the moment. I recently upgraded to a premium mega account so I could overcome the ~5gb limit. I put my mega account details into megadownloader, but I'm still coming up with data limit restrictions when I try to download via megadownloader. Anyone else had the same issue, or know how I can fix this?
[-] Akshay-Varma | 1 points
Yes but it's a glitch.it took me a few tries. You can also try a slightly older cracked version of the app. It might work. If you are in india then you can use jio music. It's mobile carrier specific for jio network.
Does anyone know if there is a Megalinks German Reddit? I enjoy watching stuff in english, but i like to have english and german language.
