This was my first foray into classical music many years back. It's a good compilation with plenty of recognisable pieces, but a lot of them are cut horribly short. For example: this has Jupiter from Holst's The Planets, but cuts off the last 3 minutes; it has the Largo from Dvorak's New World Symphony, but cuts off 8 minutes; and it has Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2, but cuts off the first 6 minutes. The most disastrous case by far of this is Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, of which only the final 2 1/2 minutes out of the full, glorious 16-17 minutes are given.
If you're looking at getting into classical music, this is still a good start (they're all good recordings) - I just wanted to give a warning to anyone wanting to expand a collection or the like.
I know! Completely bizarre. Oh! Another travesty on par with the 1812: only 3 1/2 minutes of Rhapsody in Blue from the 4:12 mark through to 7:43 in that YouTube version. A baffling splice of the piece.

Thanks for the warning. I'm still going to get it, but that's certainly good to know!
