XP 64 bit? Pretty unusual OS flavor there. I only ever saw a handful of the x64 machines back in the day and they were always being used in specialized environments like running CAD software for big ass building plans and stuff like that.

Drivers for it were always a pain in the ass as they were so few and far between it seemed.

I used it when I got my first Athlon (thunderbird) processor...

Drivers weren't actually so bad from what I remember, unless maybe you were trying to get some odd peripheral connected.

Thank you I will keep this on hand in case its ever needed, do you by chance have XP as a pre-service pack 1?

For my education, why would you might want that?

off the top of my head (not sure, been too long) one software that is being used in a gated community, HVAC and building security systems must run on XP, WITHOUT the newer service packs. That happens when a stupid contractor buys the lowest bid. It would be absurdly expensive to upgrade it. It's air gapped, so why bother?

If you are asking the "why x64 tho" I'd ask the same question :)

Not hvac but similar reasoning I have a few desktop computers that manage water pump software (not connected to the internet) at a local Water district and something in service pack 1 and higher breaks it.

XP x64 was based on the Server 2003 SP1 codebase, there is no pre-SP.

idk which version this is. but the pro, enterpise and such didnt require a key. Just install and go. But again, no idea which this one is.

Unless the add-ons have the code, yeah I need one too.

Is this just plug and play or does it need a code? I have my OG disk but it needs a code

Are we really doing this? :) I mean, I'd go for the Corporate version myself.

Honestly you're better off with windows server 2003, <em>(btw - they're almost the same so if your device has 2k3 64bit drivers it'll work on xp)</em> | Megalinks MegaDB (btw - they're almost the same so if your device has 2k3 64bit drivers it'll work on xp), but 2003 I think has/had longer patch support and is cross-compatible with XP software-wise, but more stable

(search for pirated copies of Windows 2003 "eXperience" edition for pre-modding for XP themes, full directx ported support from xp - etc).
