They used to be called Upscales but that term was technically untrue so they switched to filtered, the files have been encoded in a specific way to make it smoother and the colours boom more.
They tend to be pretty good but sometimes a little off, TTGL looks phenomenal and legitimately better than the bluray source but Fullmetal Alc looks blurred and the details washed out, it kind of depends on the anime artstyle, I haven't downloaded this but given MHA's artstyle I think it'd benefit from this.
Honestly don't know why it was even implemented to this release in that case. I have MHA season 1 on BluRay and it looks incredible. But thats good to know :)
I could be mistaken but I think it's to reduce the quality loss during the conversion from 264 to 265, there's minimal quality loss but I suppose it's possible, I doubt they'd put they processing power into it if it didn't offer some benefit, and hey no worries :)
