Because x265 is in its relative infancy and is nowhere near as good. Plus going lossy->lossy will always suck.

I download some real nice x265 from here in like 1080p quality though. Guess this is encoded differently v0v I know nothing about video encoding lol.

it depends on the encoding settings. You can do relatively good quality encodes with x265 but better quality usually means larger file size at which point one could even use x264 since the savings are minimal when the quality is similar to x264.
edit: x265 is meant for 4k footage and bandwidth starved content (aka streaming). Everything else can be done better, as in better quality, with x264
