Totally worth watching in High quality, one of the best movies of the year for sure. I first torrented it, but it's worth supporting!

Regardless, enjoy!

Got a link to a high quality release? Based on OPs file sizes both of them are very low quality.

It's x265. It's fine.

permalink

[-] Agret | 7 points | Nov 11 2017 02:34:54

I know that x265 is good but for an anime movie in 1080p ripped from a Blu-ray is normally 10-15gb for a good quality x264 rip. This just seems ridiculously small for a movie considering most 1080p TV anime episodes are 1-1.5gb each.

audio is the main thing that suffers from the small size

I have issues running videos with x265 on my computer. Will there be a x264?

Get the latest codes pack (it's free) and use the player included with the codec pack or VLC or KMplayer. Only takes like a minute to set-up :)

Tried that and it didn't work for me.

Download it and use Handbrake. I've used that in the past to convert video into something that works on my Chromecast.

Please just find a different copy, this is already way too small and going lossy->lossy is just going to ruin it.

handbrake shows no valid source or titles found.it runs on my pc perfectly using kmplayer but does not work on my samsung tv using usb or using plex.file probably has some kind of drm protection.any way to get around this? one possible solution was using brosoft video converter but it cant output multiple audio and subs in one mkv.so i encoded in eng and other in jap.also this is not a good solution because the subs were burned in not softcoded. another solution would be very appreciated.

Use MPV-Player
mpv.io

The player is super light on UI, so to play a video you drag the file into the player window.

I can play H.265 locally from my computer or from my NAS with no loading time.

VLC has issues with H.265 where the audio jitters, and it takes about 10 minutes to begin playing H.265 files from my NAS.

Try converting it or using QuickSync

permalink

[-] extremebs | 3 points | Nov 11 2017 01:01:08

Why would I want to convert it wouldn't that make the quality worse? I've installed Quick Sync in the past and still got the same results as I did before. What is wrong with just using x264.

x265 is a newer and more efficient codec that gives you higher quality output for the same file size. You need a more powerful system to decode it though. What issues are you facing?

permalink

[-] dsatrbs | 2 points | Nov 11 2017 03:14:30

re-encoding will be lower quality than an original x264 encode, and x265 isn't supported natively by some clients and can cause problems with CPU usage for Plex... so yeah, many people would rather not download x265 garbage yet.

Did somebody reply to this? My reddit app is not working properly. So I was unable to see it and somehow the reply vanished from the site version too.

Did you ever get a solution to this? Idk how the hell someone encoded this but it is a mess to try to get it to work with an xbox, samsung tv, or any device besides a PC.

i converted the file to 1080p x264 using brosoft something video convertor but that has limitations [ no dual audio or multi subs] so i kept the original but created another version with english audio and subs (due to personal preference ) to use in plex. my advice is to find some good paid video convertor ( pirated obviously) and create an x264 1080 encode mkv with dual audio and subs.it will take some time.my pc is a first gen i3 with no graphic card so i had to compromise finding and testing video convertors every 5-6 hrs (thats the avg encode time for this movie with my pc).best of luck and if you find the right tool for the job do tell me.

Is there a way to get English subs for just the writing? Instead of both dialogue + writing
