If you're having trouble downloading from MEGA, or can't bypass the bandwidth limit, use ZippyShare with JDownloader. If you're unsure on how to download using JDownloader, read the post I made here.

Imagine if this movie had a good cast...

The leads are good, it's just all over the place. I'm currently at Bubbles, and that whole cameo felt unnecessary. I mean I get the need for the disguise but it's just like, what the fuck? Get with the main plot now.
Edit: Okay, just finished the movie but won't give a big review.
That whole wedding thing was just cringy and annoying. I really liked the 3 characters in the command center at least, especially the captain in charge.
The Pearl people were really interesting. When they first showed them I was really confused about what exactly was happening but as the movie went on it made a lot of sense and I wanted to know a bit more about them.
Good movie, not saying the greatest but it might be The Dark Tower scale, as in, not great but certainly had parts that pulled you into the movie.
I don't often sit through a film, but Valerian was actually pretty entertaining. Won't watch it again for a while though.

Minus the strange casting of Valerian this is a really great movie!

Thanks for the upload, wish I'd remembered to see this while it was in theaters.
Loved it, even loved the two leads, though that kind of romance just makes me love any two characters.

I loved this movie in the theatre

Is this KORSUBbed?
[-] MrTattyBojangles | 1 points
Nope. It would say so otherwise.

Thank you so much.
Luc Besson is my favourite Frenchman... now to watch Delevingne push her acting skillz to MarkWahlbergarian heights. haha

Thanks.

For those still wanting full English subs, this recent Blu-ray rip will most likely have some.
Thank you! +1
So this is an actual good quality and not a cam rip?
How did you get a WEB-DL so fast? I thought it wasn't released digitally until the 7th.
[-] zackogenic | 1 points
It's a quality vid, but must have been leaked in Germany or something cause the text is in German. I think.
[-] Cantripping | 1 points
Is any of the movie spoiled/unintelligible by the lack of English text, for those of us who can't read German?
[-] MrTattyBojangles | 5 points
The movie is in English. There's 1 moment of German text onscreen, but there's English subtitles for those who can't read German.
[-] Cantripping | 1 points
Thanks! I was really sad to see this in theatres and have been eagerly anticipating a decent quality release to check out at home :D

I fixed the forced English subtitles, the fancy Princess name was messed up:
-
1
00:05:12,458 --> 00:05:15,998 400 YEARS LATER
2
00:08:02,917 --> 00:08:05,247 Let us give back to nature
3
00:08:05,333 --> 00:08:07,173 that which she gave to us.
4
00:08:15,792 --> 00:08:18,792 Give this pearl to my daughter, Princess Lihö-Minaa.
5
00:11:02,292 --> 00:11:03,382 Dad!?
6
00:11:44,208 --> 00:11:46,038 It's broken!

The only full English subs I can find are for Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets 2017 KORSUB.HDRip.x264.AAC2.0-STUTTERSHIT23.976 FPS, but they don't appear to sync up with the 1080p EVO upload. You could try delaying them and see if you can sync them yourself, it's worth a try.
I've looked up various other uploads and they all have the same forced English subs.

It appears all copies currently available don't include full English subs and nobody has bothered to write any yet. Some will turn up eventually once newer copies are released. I've never seen WEB-DLs not come with them before though, so it is rather odd.
If anyone finds some, please post them.

This one seems to work!
It's not word for word however, but it still carries the meaning of the dialogues.
Edit: I think these were translated from another language because sometimes, they don't make sense.

Right now even Forced English subs is better than full ones it seems. Anyone got the forced subs at all for Valerian.and.the.City.of.a.Thousand.Planets.2017.720p.WEB-DL.H264.AC3-EVO?

The corrected forced subs for the 1080p version that I posted above should work fine, since they're the same encode, just different resolution.

How did you edit the subtitles? On a Mac and trying MKVToolNix but it's coming out gobbledy-gook.

[-] MrTattyBojangles | 1 points | Nov 09 2017 23:50:07
I use Subtitle Edit 3.4.13, not sure if it'll work on Mac.
Are you using the Mac version of MKVToolNix? Using the Windows version may not work properly for you.

[-] goferit00 | 1 points | Nov 17 2017 23:23:36
Yes using the Mac version. What file format do you extract, to then open in SE?
EDIT
Have extracted both MVS and SRT, both open in text editor with a panoply of accented characters, and some dialogue is visible in amongst it, but it truncates at the error you've repaired, thus the file is extremely short, perhaps a hundred lines (description from memory).

Not a lot of that makes much sense to me if I'm being perfectly honest 😅 I extracted to SRT.
Have you tried this recent Blu-ray rip? I haven't tried it myself but it should have complete subs. You'll probably fine some on Subscene or OpenSubtitles now too, the movie's been out long enough.
