Eccentric genius, Walter O'Brien and his team of brilliant misfits comprise the last line of defense against complex, high-tech threats of the modern age. As Homeland Security's new think tank, O'Brien's 'Scorpion' team includes Toby Curtis, an expert behaviorist who can read anyone; Happy Quinn, a mechanical prodigy; and Sylvester Dodd, a statistics guru. Pooling their extensive technological knowledge to solve mind-boggling predicaments amazes federal agent Cabe Gallo, who shares a harrowing history with O'Brien. However, while this socially awkward group is comfortable with each other's humor and quirks, life outside their circle confounds them, so they rely on Paige Dineen, who has a young, gifted son, to translate the world for them, while also helping each other learn how to fit in.
S04E05 Sci Hard

I keep wanting to like this show, but it’s just so incredibly stupid.

IMO not everything has to make perfect sense. It's entertaining enough with it's humour & characters. If they were to do everything in an accurate, realistic manner, I doubt if it'll be fun or something the general audience would wanna watch.

I suppose what I find offensive is that the “real life” Walter O’Brien claims the show is based on actual events in his life, which is ludicrous. All of his claims from an undocumented highest IQ ever recorded, to his claimed countless times of saving mankind from annihilation, pure BS, fooling no one except the Network execs who bought into it and the infinitely gullible among us.
