VPNs are your friend. Have it open in your mega downloads menu, pause it when it stops or if it doesn't auto pause, then turn on your VPN, wait a few seconds, continue. VPNs are really easy to find, free ones are harder though. Humble Bundle gave me one for a year for around $7.50 with a bunch of other software. I'd recommend checking there occasionally.

On pc i use opera's vpn and on android i use turbo vpn

Late reply, sorry. When you say Opera's vpn, do you mean there is one built into the browser?

fitgirl repacks are really easy to use, usually you just run the exe (turn off the music if you dont like it), it does the install process and then you might have to drag some files from the folder into the installation path.

And don't forget to turn off your antivirus for the installation + exclude the game folder from scans, otherwise it will delete the crack and you can't play the game

Could you share how you fixed this error?

My part 4 is corrupt as well (FAILED. CRC mismatch, according to the batch checker); I've tried re-downloading the entire package, as well as just part 4 to replace it, but nothing has worked.

Do you have any advice? Thanks in advance.

i downloaded with megadownloader at first till i ran out of bandwidth then used opera to download after the limit cap

Thank you! For anyone else that might read this, I followed the same procedure; downloaded the whole thing with Megadownloader, which seemed to corrupt part 4 each time. I then re-downloaded part 4 through the Mega website, in Firefox, as a standard download, and replaced it in the original repack. I ran the batch checker and part 4 is no longer corrupted!

Installing now, will update with a final verdict.

Do you absolutely need to be connected to the internet to install this game?

I have a desktop that I'd rather not have connected to the internet, well I would but it's a slow computer with no wifi and I don't have an ethernet cord long enough.

So I would like to install it on that one but if I need to be connected to the internet then that'd be a problem.

Hey so, I've been getting a black screen on startup. No sound just the game starting up. Then it just exits and closes. I can't press Alt+Enter because it closes while loading.

Even when in Task Manager, the game closes by itself. What can I do to fix this?

The usual stuff of update all your drivers and Windows updates. Followed by uninstalling the existing Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 (x86 and x64) redistributables, then instal DirectX sdk (June 2010) and the Windows 8 SDK. Followed by reinstalling the latest 2010 redistributables (and the latest other ones wouldn't hurt). At this point if it still doesn't work then also run dxcpl, select a feature level limit of 11_0 or 11_1 and select Force WARP. This got it working for me.
