I've been subscribed to /r/megalinks for a few months now, and I'd like to give back. I have a decent sized collection of files I'd like to share with the community, and just need some basic guidelines.
I'm a PIA user with no data cap. I've read that the best course of action is to make multiple Mega accounts and spread my files across them to share. Is there anything else I need to be aware of beforehand? I'd like to avoid spending any additional money if necessary.
Thanks guys.

Looking forward to see what you upload friend. Anything is always appreciated.
Keep a record of all your burner accounts and what's in them in case something goes down and you want to re-upload it, or fix some broken folder links. I've personally started listing out things I plan to upload so I don't forget. I have a large queue most of the time.
I do the same thing.
I personally also recommend using notepad++ to make your lists and keep track of them. Mainly because it has tabs, you can color code, it auto saves anything open in it, etc.
The auto save is especially useful for account info and for storing zippylinks.
I use temp-mail.org but there are plenty of alternatives.
Use the latest version of MEGAsync and I'm not sure if actually does anything but ever since I changed the settings my upload speed has been very fast.
MEGAsync > Settings > Bandwidth > Upload Rate Limit > Don't Limit
Also change the number of parallel TCP connection uploads to 6.
Again this could do absolutely nothing but for me having it on the default settings gives me 2-10 MB/s but now I'm getting 40-60 MB/s (Maybe MEGA just got new servers LOL)

Tried searching, couldn’t find anything: how do I split a movie up into multiple zip/7z files?
If you use 7zip, right click >7zip>Add to archive....
that should bring up a dialog where you can name your 7z/zip file and other things. I would recommend setting the compression level to "store" since video is usually already compressed as much as it can be.

Near the bottom left, there should be a dropdown that reads "Split to volume, bytes". This is where you enter the size of the split archives you want to be. For example, if you want to fit into zippy's 200MB file limit, you would type "200M" without the quotes into that field. Once you hit ok, the archive will automatically be created in split files, and 7zip can also be used to extract it without the need of another file joining tool.

A while ago, we used to use HJSplit for that. I don't know whether they still use it or moved to another thing.

WinRAR does it pretty well.

If you don't want to use multiple mega accounts just use zippyshare. We even have a sub, /r/ZippyShare Zippy has no 50 gig limit, but does have a file size limit of 200mb, so things have to broken down.

Just keep making Mega accounts with something like trashcanmail or tenminutemail, no need to buy anything.

where did you find a zippy uploader? I've found zippy to be very unstable and a client that helps restart crashed uploads might make it more viable for me.

Zippyuploader in my experience is actually WORSE than uploading with the website, if it crashes you have no way of retrieving the links from the files. At least with the website you can figure out where it messed up and pick up where you left off.
But it is available for download right on zippyshare.com

Thus far I've only had it crash on me once. Sure it can be a pain, but it's not as bad as a bluescreen.

When uploading remuxes, is it better to split them into parts first? If yes, what size?

200mb parts are good since that's what zippy can handle. I'd recommend breaking anything over 4-5gb just for accessibility.
