Is the color normal in this version?

Plz reply someone. Yeah, the colors for these kinds of rips seem washed out. Dunno how to fix it. I think my monitor can do HDR.

If you don't have a HDR monitor you'll have to use some video decoder on MPC-HC to work. Search about madVR, it's what you're looking for.

Any way to make it work with Kodi on android?

AFAIK Kodi doesn't support HDR and I can't find any information if it's even a future feature they're planning to add... With HDR starting to get mainstream I would guess it's a matter of 'when' rather than 'if'.
I'm currently shopping for a 4K Android TV box and I recently found something interesting though. This box used a clever workaround to do just that.
I also found this workaround to make it work on Windows (I tested it, it works), maybe something similar exists on Android, you'd have to look into that.
But in the end, all of this is kind of pointless if you don't have an HDR screen. It would be much simpler to just download the SDR version of the movie.

That box is definitely fancier than what I have, DroidBOX™ iMXQpro V2. I really don't care about the HDR but that fact it's higher resolution, it looks much sharper than the 1080 version I have, despite looking like it has a brownish filter.

IMO, HDR > 4K
Unless you have a massive screen, 2160p is kind of overkill. There's obviously a difference in fidelity compared to 1080p but HDR brings much more to picture quality than the upgrade from 1080 to 2160.
HDR has that "wow factor" that everyone witnessed a decade ago when we switched from SD to HD. If you've never seen HDR in real life, you can't really understand the difference it makes. It's like when broacast TV was still in SD and you'd watch an ad trying to sell you an HDTV, telling you how gorgeous it looked... It was useless since you can't see the HD in an SD feed lol
If cheaper 1080p HDR TVs existed I would actually buy that instead of a 4K.

I can't tell you that this is impossible but afaik most android devices won't even run HEVC videos.

You're so full of shit. Any android box made in the last 4-5 years will play HEVC fine, not all will play 10bit or 12bit though. As for HDR, it needs to be a S905X or S912 processor in the box, or an Nvidia Shield.

Android supports HEVC playback since 5.0. There are a lot of 4K Android TV boxes with HEVC support.
Even some smartphones are now 4K HDR compatible!

My box plays this file too it just looks a little brownish (missing color or a brownish filter placed over it)

Probably because you don't have an HDR screen. Or you're using a player that doesn't support HDR (like I said in another comment, Kodi doesn't)

Don't bother with a 4gb 4K movie.

That was my thought at first, but then I watched the sample and I was blown away. It does look really good, even on my SDR 4K monitor (using madVR HDR to SDR conversion)
I don't understand how this is possible but apparently HDR files compress crazy good with HEVC.

HEVC is made to be crushed. Plain and simple. It excels at low bitrates where X264 would totally suck.

If you was blown away by the 4gb 4k movie then you should download the Terminal x265 4k encodes. The file sizes range from 13-26gb, I highly recommend those over the 4gb version. For people with ocd, just stick to the 4k Remuxes.

I just watched the sample for the GotG vol.2 Terminal release, I can't say I've really noticed a difference in quality. But they're two really different looking movies so apples and oranges...
I don't even have an HDR TV yet so I can't judge too much these releases yet. I ordered one today though, it should arrive next week :)

While not as good as a large 4k movie, it still looks better than 1080.

I have the REMUX and it looks great on my cheap 4k tv, I can only imagine how HDR would look. I'm just archiving these 4k movies so I'll be set when i get the HDR premium.
