A lot of hype died as more information on run time and stuff got released. Then, when the movie was actually released, it was pretty much destroyed by critics and book fans, killing any hype left. It was released August 4 in the US IIRC

The movie is supposed to be a sequel, but honestly it is more of a mashing together of elements of the last book with a new story to it. With that in mind it wouldn't really make any sense for her as it stands, and the movie doesn't follow the books story clearly at all, but elements are there that she has not gotten to yet and may not want to see.
