If you're having trouble downloading from MEGA, or can't bypass the bandwidth limit, use ZippyShare with JDownloader. If you're unsure on how to download using JDownloader, read the post I made here.

And get cancelled, Social Justice Discovery

It's DIS - http://www.cbr.com/star-trek-discovery-shorthand-std/

THEY DO NOT GET TO DECIDE HOW WE ABBREVIATE THEIR SHOW.
THEY DIDN'T, THE FANS DID
WHY ARE WE SHOUTING

You're not wrong, DS9, TNG, TOS... all abbreviated without the ST.
STD is just funnier for some. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Funnier for some? Don't you mean all?
If you follow the TOS/TNG/DS9 convention, then the abbreviation be "D."
I guess the most straightforward thing to do would be to call it "Discovery" for "Star Trek Discovery" -- similar to "Voyager" for "Star Trek Voyager" and "Enterprise" for "Star Trek Enterprise".

Actually, DIS would make more sense.. It follows the 3 letter pattern, while cutting out the ST.
But yeah, it would be easily just to say Discovery, but there are times abbreviation might be preferred.

Nah, no one is trying to 'dis' the show, we should just stick with ST:D so there's no confusion. :D

I bet you call the planet Uranus "Urinus".

"Urectum."
Honestly, Episode 3 redeemed a lot in ST:D, at least for me.

Yep, it's okay. I'd rather have the choice to watch both than to only have one. Competition is always good.
STD is a decent show and I'll keep watching it, but it doesn't feel like Star Trek. It seems like the people making it are trying to make it like Game of Thrones or Walking Dead, which is not what Star Trek is supposed to be.
The Orville is also a decent show and is in some ways more like Star Trek, but so far the writing isn't really up to par with, e.g., the later seasons of TNG. It's like a poor man's Star Trek, an imitation. But these two shows are all that we have now, so I guess we'll just have to make do.

I even liked the first two episodes. Not the best episodes ever made but I enjoyed them.
I could not get warm with Michael (who da fuck came up with that name, seriously), the captain woman or anyone else, so I was really worried throughout the whole two episodes. Having Sarek phone in magically two or three times... even the klingons felt just wrong to me, but overall, yeah. Just think about how shit every other Start Treks first to episodes have been, they were pretty ok. But since episode 3 I'm sold and waiting for the next one.

The hate some Orville fans spew towards Star Trek Discovery is childish, to say the least.
[-] JohnSmallBerries | 10 points
I just can't stop laughing at the fact that The Orville has shown us things like an invention to solve hunger, a future in which humans have gotten rid of zoos because they're cruel to animals, a denunciation of tyrannical religious fundamentalism, and an episode about infant sexual reassignment surgery and gender issues; but it's the show about a ship in wartime whose captain and crew will happily discard ethics in order to gain an edge over their enemy that he condemns as "social justice".
I mean, he's either got to be trolling, or somehow watching versions of the shows from an alternate reality.
Right, I understand a lot of criticisms of DIS but how the fuck is it a "social justice" show? And how can you really say that's a bad thing as a Star Trek fan? TOS was social justice in space for its era.

Porque no los dos?
It's really uncanny timing. I wonder how much they knew about Discovery vs. it being all coincidence.
I read somewhere that Seth had pitched the idea many years ago in lieu of there being no Star Trek on TV. It was a producer that came to him and told him to resubmit the pitch recently. If Seth knew Discovery was around the corner or not is another question, but the producer felt it was a good time for the show.
