Hey guys! Thank you to everyone who helps make this such a strong community, especially the uploaders! You guys are all family! Keep up the great work!

Lol you did /r/RedHeadJedi34 instead of /u/RedHeadJedi34. I wasnt aware I had my own sub/fan club.
(Does the banner look fuzzy to anybody else?)
[-] starbuck93 | 1 points
It just looked jpeg'ed, but yes. Anyways, good job on that image!
[-] RedHeadJedi34 | 1 points
maybe I can send him a PNG version
Now we start worrying that were getting too big and are going to get noticed (in a bad way).

Lol anybody else notice the new megalinks look/logo on the top bar? Was it because of this that they changed it?
Is it just me, or the old design looked better?
[-] lurkbender | 3 points
Yeah, it looked better IMO.

I'm newly-subscribed because of Star Trek: Discovery. I don't think I'm the only one.

I love this community, Its so convenient to not have to download torrents anymore especially since its a hassle in Germany, Ill probably buy a month of Mega so I can download more easily. A big thanks to all the uploaders :)

This part of the Reddit is literally the main reason why I am here in general. I thank all the good people who are here ❤
[-] Jake548675 | 1 points
New logo doesn't look good, too heavily compressed. And the blue logo was more eye-friendly.
[-] generalecchi | 1 points
I think you should change it to something rather than just "readers" and "users here now"
[-] CidAndroid | 1 points
To all those who contribute to this subreddit.

seconded
That's because people are torrenting and getting cease and desist emails from all their ISPs now. lol
That's why I came here.

Since megatools are now unable to bypass the limit, I personally feel ziplyshare links are the future, so it would be nice if uploaders can post zippy links also with their megalinks, and kudos to the ones that already do.
I would upload to zippyshare if someone gave me Linux command line tools that work. There are various options for interacting with MEGA on any platform. Zippyshare, not so much. So I don't even bother.
The other thing is that zippyshare links will expire. If you're uploading something very popular, then most likely it will be downloaded frequently enough that it will remain on zippyshare. I don't upload very popular items, so they'll be gone from zippyshare sooner. It'll stay on MEGA forever. But then, MEGA responds to DMCA requests, whereas zippy doesn't.
Point is, there are a lot of factors, different pros and cons, and it's not just as simple as no bypass, move to zippyshare.
At the end of the day, for me, paying MEGA $5 every so often is worth it for what I get out of it.

Even the windows tool Zippyshare provides sucks. Crashes on connection error, can't drag & drop folders, can't add to queue while uploading, percentage complete randomly stops working...
If you have (or know someone) with scripting experience I'd give dl.free.fr a try. they have FTP uploading, 10GB max file size limit and support jD2 direct downloads. Downside is they send a download link to the email address you log in to the FTP server with - so if you've got 50 split rar files you need to copy 50 different urls. I did it with game of thrones and it wasn't that bad but that was more out of necessity than anything.
[-] OrignalPaRaLLaX | 1 points
I didn't know about the links expiring, damn

64,000 readers and still the average upload gets less than 100 upvotes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Every time I up vote I get told off :( The authors seems to want to keep the uploads on the down low

Yeah preferably please don't upvote. I want this to stay on the down low. I don't wanna have to go back to trolling 4chan and forums to find a download link that isn't P2P

Then I would suggest that people take a moment to reply. Even just a lazy "+1". Mega doesn't show a download count and the only metric we have is replies and upvotes. If neither is getting any action it feels, at least to me, like I'm shovelling my time and efforts into a black hole. That may sound like fishing for praise, but I'm a human being and sometimes a pat on the ass will go a long way. When I post something that took 18 hours to encode and another 18 to upload on DSL and the only replies are from bots I start to wonder if I'm a chump.

Yeah, that sounds like a good way to show love- comments only, no upvotes

I think a lot of people are concerned about being connected to piracy. Or some people are just arseholes.

I'm pretty upset I can only download 5GB per few hours and my 6G file is then truncated so I can't fucking do it anymore.
When that change kicked in I was pretty upset.
But I still come here. Some downloads are worth splitting across IPs

I hear that, every other other month or so I pay for 1 month with mega, and grab any bigger stuff then. Still works out as a pretty good deal. If that doesn't work for you some people have discussed other ways around it here, or of accessing stuff.

[-] ForceBlade | 2 points | Oct 06 2017 03:25:03
Yeah I've always said to myself to not get it because then I'd be paying for piracy and falling back into the payment loop.
But yeah. Maybe getting a months worth and blasting it out then stopping for a bit is the true deal. Only when I need it.

If it's really that bad pay Mega, it's like $5 a month
