I LOVE listening to Stephen Fry's voice and he's perfect for HP. Stephen Fry, Ian McKellen, John Hurt, Michael Gambon, Christopher Lee, Ian McShane... They have superb voices and would listen to them tell stories for hours!

Who cares what his accolades are... Modern Family has won 22 Emmy's whereas a superior show in my opinion - The Wire won only 2.

Here's another example: The Shawshank Redemption is the highest rated film on IMDB - but it sure isn't my favorite film.

Personally, I prefer Fry's reading as well. Just because he didn't win awards for it doesn't mean it has any less merit.

What I am trying to say is different strokes for different folks as discussed by others in this thread.
