I'm assuming for faster download. In case everyone is downloading at once?

Another thing it could be is that mega restricts downloads to 4 or 5 gigs every 8(?) or so hours. So if you're downloading multiple movies it helps to have it broken in 200mb chunks so if mega restricts your dls it will just pick up where you left off instead of completely stopping you.

Zippyshare has a limit of 200MB for filesize. I upload to both MEGA and Zippyshare at the same time instead of one after the other to save myself some time since my internet sucks.

7zip should be enough to extract the file. You only need to extract from the .7z.001 file.
