1.It uses dynamic segmentation while downloading a file.
2.It has Video grabber which can be used to grab videos from almost any site.
3.It has advanced spider feature which allows downloading of all images or any other file from a web page.
4.It has Speed limiter which you can use to limit download speed of a file. This ensures that download does not hog your complete bandwidth and you can do other stuff.
5.It has a Download Scheduler which can download files at a fixed time on a fixed day.

JDownloader2 does all this and more right?

Jdownloader needs java to run. Having Java on computer is pretty risky. Plus jdownloader use more cpu and ram than IDM

I concur with your third sentence, but why is "having Java on your computer pretty risky"? Maybe you are thinking of browser plug-ins rather than stand alone Java applications. Whether it is native binary code or Java or .NET, it is risky to download software from random, dubious sources (at the very least one must be vigilant with anti-virus scans). But if you are sure that the source is legit, then Java applications are probably more secure than native code because they will not do weird things like read from a section of memory they're not supposed to because of a logic error in a loop, like what happens with programs written in C/C++.

Does IDM have Mega integration? I use r/megalinks for Piracy, so will I be able to download Mega files the same way?

There are workarounds to download from mega using I'm but I use Megadownloader. You can stream a video file to vlc using Megadownloader too. Also Megadownloader has a library and if I really have to use IDM, I import the mega link to the Megadownloader library and use IDM to download it from the library. In this case Megadownloader converts mega link to a direct link that IDM can see

I've wondered that myself because I prefer IDM to JDownloader but I've never tried to download Mega links using IDM

I just use them both, IDM for browser stuff and jDownloader for Mega, ZippyShare and other filehosters.
jDownloader specializes in File Hosters downloading, where IDM can be more of ur browser downloader replacement.

TLDR: both are useful given your needs.
Advanced segmentation has a much better splitting algorithm in IDM, as compared to JD, allowing it to be faster than JD.
IDM has advanced browser and OS integration allowing it to be much more capable in automatic link capture, particularly for the video sites, as compared to JD's clipboard monitoring.
Encrypted HLS links aren't supported in either AFAIK due to legal issues. Use other tools for them.
JD has a lot better (and ongoing) integration for the free/paid hosting sites e.g. Mega, as compared to IDM.
Hope this helps!
