By request.

As far as I am aware, this movie was never released on BluRay. This release includes the bonus featurettes from the Criterion DVD as well as the French Wild Side Films DVD. Extras from the latter only have French hard-coded subs and Japanese audio. They were not included with the Criterion version, however, so I figured I would include them as well.

Seriously ecchh it's got to the point where I'm watching for your threads with the anticipation of a kid waiting for Christmas! :)

Been after this for ages! Never found a BD release of it either and it's odd that it's one of the few that hasn't got the HD treatment.

Just out of interest (and probably for another thread) but do you have any Mizoguchi films ? Ideally Ugetsu.1953 or Sansho the Bailiff 1954 and any Uzo? Particularly Bakushū (Early Summer) 1951 or Late Spring 1949? Also if you can get a good copy of Wandafuru Raifu (1999) I'd be overwhelmed! :)

Huge thanks for all the great posts tho. Brilliant stuff.

Keep going with the samurai movies! These are awesome. My wish list includes all the Crimson Bat | Megalinks MegaDB Crimson Bat movies, and the Oichi | Megalinks MegaDB Oichi movies, but I don't think they've been released on Bluray anywhere yet.

It's a rip from an NTSC DVD which runs at (Frame rate) : 29.970. No 24fps version has ever been released.

Anyway if it's good enough for Criterion to release then it's good enough for me .
