This is easily the best performance I've ever experienced in an audiobook.

If you enjoyed that try the first couple of Dark Tower books read by Frank Muller. Sadly he was in a motorcycle accident and was unable to finish the series but Frank was undoubtedly the greatest audiobook presenter I have ever heard. In fact, King did a prologue on one of the audiobooks saying that Frank captured King's inner monologue for those characters perfectly. George Guidall did the rerelease and while they were good, they didnt live up to Frank's rendering. He also read The Body and some others if you arent into the Dark Tower.

Muller's reading of Wizard and Glass was beautiful.

AMAZING. Excellent quality, even for 96k. Thanks a lot for this OP, if you ripped this yourself, great job!

That's the normal bitrate for audio books.

Not necessarily. When I rip them myself I do it at 128k (at the very minimum), but it also comes down to the sample size. A lot of rippers reduce the sample size when doing audiobooks to reduce the file size - and while the significant loss in audio quality might not bother many people when listening to audiobooks, I personally find it tedious.

No it's the normal bit rate used for audio books. Audible files are 64k.

Yes but audible is shit quality (in my opinion). You try listening to music at 96k and you’ll hear the difference. Physical CDs have the purest, clearest form of the narrator’s recording, much better quality than audible. Why do you think audiobook CDs are so expensive in comparison? You’re paying for quality. CDs are typically in 320k or higher, so importing them at 128k will still give you a decent quality without it starting to sound compressed.

Spoken word doesn't need the sound fidelity that music does, & won't be enhanced accordingly during the studio taping. 64k or 96k is sufficient for mono, which most audiobooks are available in. Higher bitrate is better only for radio dramas, so as to maximize the stereo/surround potential.

That is very low quality... 24kbps. Around 32 or 64 would be nice..if not, well then there is no choice

Can I expect something of a lower quality, under 1GB? Around 64k maybe?

Or is it too much to ask?

Thank you though.
