Anyone interested in German movies produced during the Third Reich?

I am, even if they don't have subs.

how do people download from amazon prime video?
[-] Frodo_Bomb | 2 points
It seems as though I'm unable to start downloads on files that are larger than 5GB, jdownloader keeps saying my account is temporarily disabled for an hour every single time, and then when that hour is up, it just says it again and makes me wait another hour, repeat.
I had a pro lite account but I used up the 1TB transfer quota, so now I assume it's acting like a free account. I was hoping it'd do the usual 5GB every 6 hours, but I left the download pending all night and it won't even start, it says "bandwidth limit exceeded" even when I haven't downloaded anything yet.
[-] doot_doot_doot_doo | 1 points
for the most part jd won't even start the dl if it is larger than 5GB. Just use megasync and pause/restart as you hit or get near the 5gb limit

Encoding things like an entire season of something is it better to set a size limit or bitrate limit?
This was a topic of discussion a few weeks ago. The answer is there is no right answer. Some people want larger files to keep the quality up, some people want smaller and are willing to trade on quality. Pretty much the same issues as with any file you submit here. You'll have to decide for yourself what you want to offer.
[-] Axelstrife | 1 points
You misunderstood me. I want to know when encoding entire seasons of a TV show should i set a constant bitrate of 4500 for example which would mean the size varies slightly or set a constant size which would mean the bitrate varies slightly.
all the episodes are within a few seconds of each other so neither the size or bitrate wouldn't vary much but i can have a constant size or constant bitrate which is best?
hope you understand my question better now.
Thanks
What encoder are you using? I'm only familiar with Handbrake, which lets you choose between a target bitrate and a target quality.
From what you've said, I would choose a target size. A target bitrate would waste bandwidth where it wasn't needed, like bright scenes with little or no motion. Setting a target file size (like setting a constant quality in Handbrake) should result in more economical encoding.
[-] Axelstrife | 1 points
staxrip wouldn't constant bitrate be constant quality while constant size make the quality variable.
The quality setting in Handbrake (CF) has a lot of latitude in how it encodes. A series of frames that don't need much bandwidth don't receive much bandwidth. That's where the space savings happen.
Under CF, a low-motion, near-white series of frames will get very little bandwidth and that section of the video won't take up much space.
Under Constant, say we set it to 1500kb/s, the same set of frames will get 1500kb/s. A total waste that inflates the final file size.
I don't know how staxrip handles a constant size. It sounds like staxrip aims for a final file size and adjusts its encoding throughout to land near that value. It sounds similar to CF. I think I would prefer working with CF. I know roughly what the output is going to look like. Under a hard cap I'd be worried that the encoder may make compromises that ruin sections of the video to meet that cap.
anyone having trouble downloading with megadownloader right now? first time i'm running into problems (error codes, not even starting, bandwith @ 2040 kbit/s while having a 120 mbit/s connection)

So do you guys use a VPN when downloading? If not, how do you usually protect yourself and?
[-] IgnoreMyName | 3 points
When downloading from Mega, you don't need a VPN to hide yourself but to bypass their download limit. After downloading ~5gb of data, depending on server loads at the time it can be more but never less than 5, you have to wait ~6hrs before downloading another ~5gb.
So, you use a VPN to change your location once you've reached the download limit to change locations and keep downloading without having to wait 6hrs. Of course, you don't have to use a VPN if you don't download much or don't mind the wait but if you do like to download a lot or download big files, a VPN can be worth it.
Alternatively, you could just buy a pro account and get rid of the headache altogether.
[-] ruralcricket | 1 points
I use Windscribe Pro.
I'm new here and downloaded already some files...do I need something what hides my VPN?
I'm a noob in such things :S

I recently built FileBot 4.7.13 on Windows 10 and disabled the donation nag dialog. PM me for the modified Java archive (JAR) file.
If you know Java, PM me for instructions on how to build the project and disable the nag dialog.
Edit: above assumes FileBot running on 64-bit Java.

tried to extract a file i downloaded but when it hits 99% an error message pops up saying the files corrupted. Is there any way to fix this
[-] douhaveanygreypoupon | 1 points
Redownload the file, but if the file is corrupted server-side there's not much you can do. You can use WinRAR's "keep broken files" option and extract it, then use a torrent to hash-check and download the missing pieces.
.sfv files should be the absolute minimum provided if uploading rar files

Why the copy of TBBT S11E01 Web-dl or WebRip nowhere to be found? I searched Rarbg, TBT and few other sites. I mean it's nearly gonna be 2 days and all I could find is HDTV. Any reasons why it is not there? Or it is in some other sites and I am looking elsewhere ?
If a Web-dl or WebRip of a TV show to be surfaced where would it appear first?
Can't link here but look up Loadstone2k12 on Twitter and TPB, he posts loads of ITunes web-dl's, including TBBT and YS
[-] yokesh_kdk | 1 points
Thank you. Downloading now.
including TBBT and YS
What is YS ?
Young Sheldon, the spin-off.
Wide range of qualities there but I always go for 1080p
[-] yokesh_kdk | 1 points
Ah right, Lol, I completely forgot that exist.
[-] douhaveanygreypoupon | 1 points
DIMENSION HDTV will be superior to iTunes WEB-DL and the Amazon season pack is $39.99.
Might as well download the dimension encode.
I assume the HDTV version will have an logo on screen and credits cut so I prefer the web versions
[-] yokesh_kdk | 2 points
Exactly. HDTV has logos so I prefer Web contents.
[-] douhaveanygreypoupon | 2 points
Dimension encodes of TBBT are logoless and have the credits (same as last season) - only difference is this release has no DD5.1 audio or CC subtitles.
/u/yokesh_kdk
[-] yokesh_kdk | 1 points
Oh wow, didn't knew that. I don't care about subs or credits but the logo. Thanks for the info, I'll d/l rest of the season from there.
Is it just me or this fucking limit is always some 200mb short of the filesize? I've never managed to download something without being blocked above 95%.

Does anyone know how 4K UHD rips for example by MZABI are in comparison to a 1080p REMUX?
Just today on snahp it there is a 4K UHD 10 bit HDR Blu Ray rip of Logan available, it is about 12Gb, Video bit rate is 12Mbps, I wanted to know how this or other UHD rips would compare in terms of quality/viewing experience? Im watching on a 65" 4K TV just over 6ft viewing distance.
I was impressed with the 4K rip of the martian which is available but that is about 40Gb, this is 12Gb. Either way I'll put it on and give it a try. Just wanted to know others opinions

Probably a dumb question for a lot of you, but how do I extract/combine the files of this movie as shown here?
[-] indigo6alpha | 1 points
From the post:
Extract with 7zip/peazip (windows), bandizip (windows/mac), keka (mac), p7zip (linux).
Install 7-zip, and extract the .001 file with it.
[-] dylpickles1133 | 1 points
Thanks. Like I said, dumb question. What are the other files used for (.002,.003, etc.)?
Hey guys, I'm new to this subreddit and I do not have much knowledge about the stuff you do here.
I have a MEGA free account and Windscribe (don't know what to do with it tbh) and I only have a download rate of 3 MB/s. Usually I have something like ~30 MB/s. Do I need a MEGA Pro account or how can I get my download rate again I started downloading with at the beginning of joining MEGA? Hope someone help me out and if you have questions, feel free to ask please.
I want to enjoy the same experience too you guys have in here :(
[-] theotherguyagain | 1 points
I recently downloaded three movies, and when i open them on Windows Media Player, all I get is a black screen with the sound playing. When I open it on VLC Player, it also doesn't work properly, the movie is grey and it gets worse when it cuts.
I read some people are having the same problem (they described it in the post). I would be grateful for any advice.

Anyone know if it's a bot auto downvoteing all uploads on here? can bots vote? It seems like it everything post gets downvote minutes after being submitted.
I doubt it's bots. The sub has over 60,000 members so there's going to be down voting. It's probably a bunch of pre pubescent losers who don't appreciate stuff for free. The stuff I upload takes time bandwidth and some money but certain people don't appreciate that lucky more upvotes end up coming through which keeps me motivated to provide more.
Anyone here familiar with HDMI arc? My tv has built in Roku, hdmi port 4 is labeled arc. I have a pioneer home theatre system that supports arc as well. If connecting my tv to the ht via arc, should anything plugged into the tv have sound and full audio capability such as DD+ etc? Should the built in Roku have full sound also?
I've never used Mega before, always torrented, will I need to use a VPN to hide myself from my ISP?
[-] JimmyJonNeutron | 2 points
No, everything is encrypted for mega and it's completely safe to use, so you don't have to use a VPN, there is a more in depth explanation above but the short answer is no
[-] IsuruHerath | 1 points
Okay so I did a web dl... the files are a bit high
I was wondering how do you encode it ? I mean by still having that good quality in a lower size
[-] valarmorghulisguy | 1 points
Why are x265 1080p bluray getting so big in file sizes? I always liked Joy's uploads, best quality at it's size.
Does anyone have experience with ivpn[dot]net, preferably in Germany? I need to buy a decent VPN that will allow me to download from mega and other DL sites without being tracked (not interested in torrents), especially here where they are a little too eager to send fines.
Edit, damn grammar

I fucking hate Comcast and their fucking data caps. Not just because I like to download crap without paying but in general. I want to do a fresh install of Windows but download BF4, Overwatch, and all the Steam games is going to take me a couple months since I have only so much gbs to download a month and need to allocate some for myself and the rest for the family. Fuck comcast, fuck data caps, fuck isp monopolies. I was super hyped when Google Fiber's website said they were looking at my city to spread to but have stopped altogether. I really hope another company comes by with fiber internet. I live in the heart of silicon valley and get 90/5 for $70 with a tb data cap. Fucking developing European countries have faster data speeds than that. Fuck.

I read about data caps in the US before. Man, that sucks. I moved from my village (max 20Mbps) to the city to study my degree and I have uncapped fiber at home (always 300Mbps) and inside my faculty there is a very good network, it goes +300Mbps everytime I do a speed test. I can't believe how the fuck they manage to achieve those speeds per user.
I swear to you I would prefer to have my slow-rural 20Mbps connection than a capped fiber service
