Enjoy.
I dont mean to put too much pressure on you but could you start uploading gryms rips as well? I'm a huge fan of his encodes.
Are his encodes noticeably better than Tigole/UTR encodes? I've been stocking up on Tigole encodes that OP and ecch have been posting lately, and wondered if I should start checking grym's stuff if it's really better.
All the grym stuff I can even find is x264 stuff..
Yes, I tested a few of tigoles rips with gryms encodes and the difference is night and day. I watched the guardians of the galaxy vol. 2 and king kong 2005, I noticed a loss in detail, the picture looked rather soft and the colors looked a bit washed. That's tigoles rip, grym rips look more rugged, the video is sharper and you notice more detail, it's probably due to higher bitrate. Tigole is still a good group though, highly recommended if you like watching movies on a pc/tablet. Their kinda like yifi but better

you do realize the Tigole encodes are around 1-3k bit rates right? Where as the Gryms are 10k+?
Grym encodes are nice but I find them unnecessarily large. You can do well with Sparks/Drones/Amiable/whatever scene release versions with their 8kish bit rates.
With x265, it seems you can expect about 20%ish file size savings on EQUIVALENT bit rates. For what you're looking at, it's apples to oranges comparisons.
If you're truly after high bit rates, why not just grab the scene x264 remux/full bd rip versions instead.
I have a few Remuxes on my harddrive. The problem is, they hog up too much space. 30-63gb in size, I thought grym encodes were large but that's not the case anymore. Grym pretty much hit the sweet spot between size and quality, I compared his rips to the blu ray remux and both looked pretty much the same. I can archive 12-21gb files but 30gb and higher is ridiculous. A 8tb drive can only hold 100 and something Remuxes, I would need another 8tb for the extra 100 of movies, I would also need TWO more 8tb drives for a backup, not worth it in my opinion. I downloaded sparks/amiables encodes but I wasn't satisfied with the picture quality, but I do recommend them over tigole rips.
grym
Even the size he's at now is often too much for me, like the Marvel movies, so far there's 15 of them at an average of like 17 GB thats 255 GB for 15 movies. I understand the need for quality but for me the Tigole encodes do just fine, on my PC and my TV in full HD.
I'm not bashing tigole, their stuff is good on a PC/TV. I just look out for details and stuff, I may be a snob when it comes to quality.
I forgot, gryms encodes usually come with extras. Those can make the files big too, I usually delete the extras and I save some space.
Goodfellas 1990 from grym is 24gb but the main movie is 19gb without the extras.
