I think it shouldn't not be mipony, but jdownloader. Jdownloader is generally trusted, and opensource, but mipony no can be found source code. This means no one can know what mipony does, but can know and see that jdownloader does right thing. Already jdownloader is trusted and used, so why to switch?

I personally don't see why this sub loves jdownloader so much. It has sketchy written all over it. The "official" download contains adware, and the "adware-free" installer makes strange outbound connections that I'm not downloading from or that appear to be the updater. After a quick search I can't even find current source code.

I assume there's something I missing since I can't find anyone else that feels the same as I do.

I've used both and in my experience, Mipony is a lot better. Doesn't use as many resources as JDownloader, and it's faster. JDownloader even has an adware free version for some reason. Even after asking me if I wanna donate, they have the audacity to put adware into their program. But if you are satisfied with JDownloader, by all means feel free to use it

I highly recommend Mipony though, that's why I add mention it at the bottom of my posts. I only want to recommend and provide links to what I think is the best download manager out there:)

When I used JDownloader, it updated slow, and even took long to open. I didn't like the long wait times, so I just tried out Mipony and it was a lot | Megalinks MegaDB lot faster. If you haven't tried it yet, I urge you to:)

I really really | Megalinks MegaDB really like open source projects. Problem with JDownloader is that the devs are actively trying to profit off it. Don't wanna support a free project if someone on the other end is gonna end up making money off it. But that's just me :D
