What ever happened to Kevin Smith? I thought he would turn out to be one of the great directors of his generation. If you haven't seen it, this is a unique and wonderful film.

I don't think he ever actually learned how to direct or write movies. He mostly just told fictional accounts of his actual experiences and opinions, which gave us Clerks I and II, Chasing Amy and Dogma. But then it also gave us Mallrats and Jersey Girl, which were panned. And the stuff from whole cloth like Jay and Silent Bob and Zack and Miri weren't any better. But he's so overly sensitive to negative criticism, he stopped really trying. Now he just gets high and finds people to make cheap, stupid movies with. The episodes of Flash and Supergirl he did were good because those were established characters and productions. He legitimately needs to go back to film school.

Is the Final Cut the 92 min one or the 102 min extended one?

permalink

[-] ecchh | 2 points | Sep 11 2017 03:35:20

I would guess the 102 minute one because the runtime is 99 minutes on this one.

10-bit HDR for stunning 16mm black and white film

Here, some education

I appreciate it, I was unaware. So to follow that up, if I'm looking specifically for UHD with HDR embedded, should I still be looking specifically for 10bit in the tag or is there another naming convention for HDR?

No problem. It's not exactly common knowledge, but with all the 10bit encodes popping up I figured I'd share.

As for HDR content, just include HDR in the search title; that's how the scene groups tag it.
