I think someone who is shadowbanned asked me about my opinion on the Opus codec regarding size/quality so I'll answer here:

Opus is the best codec in terms of quality to filesize ratio, outperforming even AAC. It's less compatible than other formats, though.

Still, the difference between 448k AAC and 384k Opus is indistinguishable to my ear. If I could replace all the AAC tracks in movies in my collection with Opus, I'd do so in a heartbeat. I mainly use my computer and Kodi to play files, so I have no issues whatsoever with compatibility.
