Is it your system or do you just run a shitty media player? If you have a somewhat low end processor, you can still run 1080p with a 720p screen using MPC-HC.

Nah it's my system and also my player settings a bit to blame. I've tried a lot of players KMP, Vlc, MPC, Mpv, Gomez currently Pot Player. I watch lot of anime so I mess around with the settings.
