720p man. x265 just means it's much more efficiently encoded, meaning less space for the same quality. 480p is for chumps.

While generally true, a high quality h264 encode is better than a low quality h265. You can't really compare them without bitrates.

Very true, but when it comes to comparing 720p x265 to 480p x264, I think the x265 always wins out. Plus I don't have the money for a Mega account so I have to keep my downloads under 4GB every 6 hours, so x265 is always preferable for me.

Yeah 480 just doesn't compare to 720. It's like VHS. I don't pay for mega either (and my gear isn't THAT good) so also I pick smaller file sizes when possible. If you have a dynamic IP or a VPN you can reset your connection or switch exit nodes when you hit the limit.

It's kinda weird how massive the jump is between 480p and 720p. That being said, sometimes I don't notice it as much, but this season of GoT has convinced me that if there's significant SFX involved, it 100% has to be 1080p. Previously, for TV, I would settle for 720p, but not anymore.
And I would use a VPN but my internet hits snail pace with it, so I just use it for dark web.
