Further note: if you use Plex you can actually set whether a show will play in Air date order or dvd order!

Click on the Edit button for the show, go down to Advanced, and it's the last option: Episode Ordering.

Tertiary note: if you use FileBot to rename your files, you can make a custom preset that will also let you choose between using the air date order and the dvd order.

I've never used that setting, personally, since I do it in plex; I tend to use either the {plex} preset or the automatic mode. I've rarely had any issues with either.

There's a definite argument for Trash followed by The Message due to stealing the Lassiter occuring in the first and then mentioned in the other... and there's good reason for Heart of Gold to be followed by Objects in Space due to Inara's feeling slighted in the first and deciding to leave in the second. But to swap them around makes Inara's actions illogical/jarring and regardless of the score for The Message being a final wrap — Hearts/Objects seems a better way to go out.

<em>TL;DR</em> | Megalinks MegaDB TL;DR The DVD order makes for the most logical/satisfying presentation for what will always have to remain, an aborted story arc. :sadface:

Firefly Season 1 Episode 1 isn't "The Train Job" but "Serenity". Episode 2 isn't "Bushwacked" but "The Train Job". The pilot is missing and everything else is shifted ? Damn.
