I'm not sure about the blu-ray rip portions but the web-dl's were almost certainly re-encodes. That being said there is no noticeable loss of quality between these and the x264 versions I've seen.

It's a way of throwing off bots. You put something in to mess up the link that has to be removed but is only easily identifiable to humans, not a computer. If a bot tries to grab your link by doing whatever methods of breaking captchas or decoding in base 64 and every time it finds a broken link it will just move on. I change the phrase to remove periodically.
