[META] What are your reasons for using megalinks? | Megalinks MegaDB [META] What are your reasons for using megalinks?

I use megalinks because I am able to download shows/movies that would otherwise not be possible because of dead torrents. I know what kind of speeds to expect, as well as the added security of having encrypted downloads.

  1. r/megalinks is a wonderful community

  2. MEGA has a streamlined super-fast service that is #1 in

    1. ultrafast file sharing with their near-instantaneous "import" feature
    2. large volume free accounts (50GB)

BTW, r/megalinks is growing fast. Check out http://redditmetrics.com/r/megalinks. The # of subsribers has doubled in the last 7 months. There was also another inflection point sometime in the first week of July 2017 that has placed us on an even steeper trajectory. Not sure what happened then to drive growth.

I just hope this community can retain its character as it grows.

The Australian government has just sent to every internet provider in the country a list of torrent sites and TV share sites that they must block access to. Word is getting out, albeit slowly, about alternatives.

Create a Windows environment on a USB stick, restart the university's PC so you can change boot device order, boot to that USB and you can forget the blocks and restrictions imposed by whatever OS the university has installed.

Hi guys, I'm wondering what's the best way to submit a link ? Does it have to be the most encrypted possible ? Because I'd like my links (music) to last as long as possible.

How do you do it ? Is is possible to get some informations about that ?

Thank you very much, I just started submitted a few links.

Check out what /u/douhaveanygreypoupon is doing with his posts on HBO series TV shows. Steganography with megadownloader is a great way to keep the links alive if you don't mind restrictring the downloads to one application since there is no way to see the actual links themselves.

Other than that, you can use Base64, link protectors, having people solve math problems, and editing the links so that certain characters should be added/removed to get the actual link.

torrents totally illegal with extreme prosecution where I live ex. download a torrent and you have a 95% chance of getting a letter in the mail from a lawyers office for a 500euro fine. only direct downloads are allowed. ( due to a loop hole). Megalinks gives me access to fast downloads of great content.

  1. Public torrents are unreliable for older releases because they usually have few to no seeders.

  2. I'm not a member of any private trackers.

  3. Other direct link sites like Warez-BB are still okay but my Rapidgator premium membership ran out last month.

  4. Premium link generation sites are a massive pain in the ass and the sites seem to get shittier/less reliable every time I use them, and will involve at least 3 minutes of clicking through ads regardless.

Don't want to pay for a VPN to download torrents, but I also don't trust "free" VPNs. Megalinks provides most of the content I want, in the quality that I need it. Plus, like rednight39 said, it's great for finding new content.

First, I don't want to use torrents for anything. Second, I actually came to megalinks once GoT season 7 started - I pay for netflix but not hbo so yeah. Aside from GoT, I'm getting anime movies in HD so I'm happy with this.

Because this is a place where I can find a lot of stuff I can't on torrents.

My only problem is that MEGA's free service is absolute dicks so gotta pay up for a signature.

I like to try before I buy when it comes to movies, if I like it, I buy it, if I don't, I delete it.

As for TV shows, it started when FOX stopped releasing The Simpsons on DVD and when they refused to release any more Modern Family series on Blu-Ray and went DVD-only in UK. I never have time to sit in front of the TV so having the shows on a hard drive for me to watch as I'm working or doing something else is perfect. If producers released their shows on Blu-Ray, I wouldn't need to download them.

Love the community of megalinks. The downloads are more vetted, so low chance of any malware or bad quality.

End-to-end encryption is a plus of MEGA, but the bandwidth limits are so annoying now, even with a Pro I account I'm still only able to download 5Gb a day, it seems, despite the 1Tb Bandwidth Limit I'm given.

No Seeders required, unlike Torrents.

I find new shit I'd never even think to look for because of this subreddit. I'm really just interested all of it and this sub has filled my 500gb movie drive in a week. Lots to watch. No real other reason then I don't know what I like really so I just download it all.

I mainly use overseas subscription-based Newsgroup Servers for content, but they typically get takedown notices for popular new releases within 2 to 3 days of a posting. So unless you get it right away, it will be gone. Megalinks gives me a last chance avenue to grab some of the titles taken off newsgroup servers without having to use the dreadful torrent scene.

Megalinks is just so much more convenient. No-one likes using VPN's to torreent. Mega doesn't use p2p so my isp doesn't even notice. I get download speeds up to 14MB/s so I'm not complaining at all. The community regularly updates the subreddit and ads are non-existent (i.e. TPB). Plus you can make requests and chances are someone will fulfill your wish :D

No, reliable. Mega's always been iffy for me, if I don't hit the bandwidth limit something else goes sideways. Hell even some of the zips I yanked today are corrupted for some reason straight off this sub. Plus I'm on mac so no external downloaders
