[META] Does everyone still use Mega downloader? | Megalinks MegaDB [META] Does everyone still use Mega downloader?

Was wondering if everyone is still using this software, or if there is a newer better one out? I'm currently having bugs where it'll randomly decrease my speed for a few minutes. Also having a hard time downloading specific files rather then everything in the hosted share.

I never have. Always used Jdownloader as it has settings.

Same here. JDownloader's code-base offends me as a programmer but it is extremely useful and versatile so I too use it...

for whatever reason jdownloader wont even attempt to download files bigger than 5GB for me. it just automatically goes to bandwidth exceed.

so I'm forced to use megadownloader for those larger files. they both feel like horrible vulnuerabilities

does anyone else have this issue? were you able to solve it?

i've had that issue too but i haven't seen anyone say anything about it. i just use megasync instead which is a minor inconvenience but at least every file ive downloaded from it has always worked properly, which i can't say about megadownloader

heard about that, might give that a shot, do you really only use it for mega? What other use does it have?

You can download from most any site similar to mega that you have access to or has free access. It will optimize speed and stability as best it can, very easy to pick which files you want, has features like auto-password cracking and auto archive extraction, it's link-grabber will automatically start checking to see if files are good as soon as links are copied to the clipboard (you don't have to paste the text anywhere), can sometimes bypass captchas and if it can't is still able to have you solve them in program so you can still download stuff that's protected, the list goes on...

It has login plugins for literally hundreds of file sharing sites. If the site exists JDownloader can likely automatically log you in with your information. I also find its password list feature super handy, if you're downloading from a few different regular uploaders with different passwords you can just add the passwords to a list and it will try them out for extraction.

Could you tell me if there's a way to stream video files on JDownloader.

I still use it. I've never had issues with it so never considered switching to something else.

I usually use it for Mega downloading as it's simple and basic. Jdownloader for other hosters.

jdownloader and the mydownloader app for my phone. it's amazing. copy and paste a link on my phone and it downloads at home. Takes all the big file hosters and youtube. And the clean ad free captcha support is amazing. http://jdownloader.org/jdownloader2

I use megadownloader. I'll either direct download if available or add to my cloud and then download from there. Speed is never an issue.

It doesn't even work for me anymore. No matter what the size of the thing I try to download, it just says it is done after downloading 6.72 kb and moves on to the next file in the queue. So I use Jdownloader now.

Megatools was a pain in the ass to install but I got it working pretty well.

Still prefer JDownloader, but man does it just scream "sketchy" program.

? Is jDownloader freeware or shareware?

permalink

[-] LiquidAurum | 2 points | Aug 16 2017 19:57:24

looks like freeware to me

Ok cool I just found a link that leads to an adware free version.

Still, although I have similar issues with it dropping of slowing down. Jdownloader is a confusing mess to me, also.

I've always just used MegaSync. What are the others advantages ?

permalink

[-] LiquidAurum | 1 points | Aug 17 2017 11:42:11

with mega downloader it doesn't use your account unless you sign in, and even then it bypasses the bandwidth limitations

What is mega downloader? sounds like a virus

permalink

[-] LiquidAurum | 2 points | Aug 16 2017 16:48:51

ha ikr, I avoided it for a while. It's a desktop client not made by Mega that downloads files from mega shares. It would be nice if it was just polished up a bit more
