[META] Best way to download A LOT of content with a PRO account? | Megalinks MegaDB [META] Best way to download A LOT of content with a PRO account?

Planning on using one of my two data cap limit freebies to download a bunch of shows shared on the 4chan megathread. Am going to get a $5 Pro account to not have to constantly switch locations on my VPN.

I have Megatools and was wondering if it would work fine with downloading 1.5tb+ worth of content. Meaning, I wouldn't still need to change location just because Megatools doesn't recognize my Pro account.

How do Megasync and Megatools compare in this regard?

Just add your pro account to Jdownloader and download as much as you like. http://imgur.com/a/nK1mU ^see.

Question, downloading a bunch of shows off of Zippyshare with Jdownloader and getting suuuper slow speeds. Have 130gb left in 200mb files. When I press the start button, the first file will download at full speed, ~9 MiB/s. Then the ones after download at less than 100 KiB/s. If I press stop and start again, the first file I will be downloading will again be downloading at full speed and all files after that at the slower speed.

Since you suggested Jdwonoader, I'm hoping you would know more about resolving the issue. If it's a resolvable issue.

Zippyshare has been getting spotty download speeds for me lately, and I managed to solve it by just increasing the number of simultaneous downloads from 3 to 15 in jdownloader. I've been getting pretty much my full download speed with little problem most of the time now

How do you set up jdownloader to download mega files that have encrypted password?

permalink

[-] tenorxander95 | 1 points | Aug 16 2017 02:59:45

What I do is copy the link and the key together and it picks it up and adds it to the link section

Example: mega.nz/link + password

I try to copy together but it hasn't worked yet, not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Different question, I keep disconnecting while downloading from Mega.

http://imgur.com/SAxP55G

I have to stop downloads, wait a while, and then continue downloading and hope it does actually continue the download instead of just telling me it's recconecting. I have a PRO Lite account with about 600gb transfer quota left. With the amount of reconnecting I'm having to do, I think it's going to take me to the end of the month to download the 600gb. I have to stay on top of Jdownloader to make sure it's downloading at all times otherwise it won't download and am wasting time.

Mentioning /u/Axelstrife and /u/rongkongcoma as it seems you guys use Jdownoalder enough to maybe have a solution.

Is this an error Message you get when you try to reconnect your router with jdownloader? Then turn that off, with a Pro account you don't really need that feature.

I have no idea what reconnecting is about. I downloaded Jdownloader , input my mega account and then copy mega links and start downloading. i don't touch anything else other than the amount of items download at once.

Two settings in jdownloader that make a big difference on free account.

Settings-REconnect-> and set REconnect to false (if your IP can't change) along with unchecking "do not start downloads ifothers wait for reconnect". Both of those were annoying for me but works pretty well after disabling them.

what happens when you dont renew your subscription? Do they delete your files?

Reason I want to use a tool like Megadownlaoder is because it makes it easier to manage all the folders I will be downloading. Currently have 72 folders I need to download from. Adding them all to Megadownloader or something like that and letting it manage downloading files/folders one by one would be easier vs downloading, going to next folder, downloading, etc.

http://jdownloader.org/jdownloader2

Jdownloader2 has a feature to scan the clipboard for downloadable content. You can search a whole site by copying the link and paste it with shift + ctrl + v in jdownloader. Alternative you can click the "deep scan link" button. Works also with a list of links.

It will find anything, jpgs, mp3, videos. If there's a youtube playlist it will ask if every item of the youtube playlist should be added.

Also works great with "what's your favorite song" reddit threads.

I recommend the jar version since it has now adware.

Ah ok sorry, didn't read all the way to the end. But I'm curious what can't jdownloader do what megasync / megatools can? Or what are you planing that jdowloader can't handle?

Just in case, you can add pro accounts in jdownloader.

Take back what I said, /u/Axelstrife showed that Mega pro account does work with Jdownloader.

Essentially, I wanted a way to download non-stop without Mega limiting me. I was worried that without the proper tool, Mega wouldn't recognize I was using a tool to download and would still stop me every 5gb.

Never mind though, it works for my needs.

I recommend the jar version since it has now adware.

So just to verify: you're saying using your link, use the jar version because the windows one has malware and the jar does not?

[-] rongkongcoma | 2 points | Aug 15 2017 14:29:40

I don't know if that changed but the (I think it was the official) windows installer had adware (a coupe of years ago). Since then I never downloaded the installer again. And I'm not 100% sure the link I posted is the one without it. So I always recommend the jar (no installer, it's portable)

It says in the headline "JDownloader 2 Adware-free Setup" and I'm about 99% sure it's official, so it should be good.

But I still hesitate to say I'm 100% certain it's clean.

I don't think this is a jdownloader issue. According to the jdownloader board, zippyshare caps its speed after 2gb. They say it helps to just download 20 files at the same time.

It's also possible to let jdownloader restart or reconnect your router after 2gb automatically. But that depends on where you get your IP from. If you get it by cable your ISP gives it to you and reconnecting wont help.

small edit: If you downloading series, maybe this helps too. http://filechef.com this uses google to find open ftps and other open sources. Sometimes the speed is amazing, sometimes it's slow but you'll find any popular series on about 5-6 different servers. Pretty amazing for mass downloading series.

It's worth it, you don't have to worry about waiting. I didn't have a vpn when I started using mega. I found this thread, so I purchased 5$pro account. I don't have any terabytes to fill up or I would have reached my 1 terabyte limit already.

You can create an mega.ini file in the Megatools folder to pass in your Pro account ID/password if you want to use Megatools.
