The Blue Planet is a British nature documentary series created and produced by the BBC. It is narrated by David Attenborough. Described as "the first ever comprehensive series on the natural history of the world's oceans", each of the eight 50-minute episodes examines a different aspect of marine life. The series won a number of Emmy and BAFTA TV awards for its music and cinematography.

That bitrate tho O_O
yeah. I'm looking for a higher quality version that isn't huge. I try to find small quality releases for the purposes of mega. if you know of a good 1080p x265 version, let us know about it pls.

Unfortunately, best I have is 720p.x264; all of 17GB's worth. The source discs appear carry significant grain — difficult proposition vis-à-vis quality vs compression.
I have that version too. Hard to find a 1080p release out there.

There's a supposed scene release by REQ at 3.97GB/ep, but it's shit-tastic:
The whole series could do with a remaster...
There are Blurays sold of Blue Planet, but unfortunately even they are upconversions and not in true HD footage. Here is a very good Amazon review with a detailed explanation of the problem. The accompanying discussion thread is also very interesting. FYI.
