I hope that can help someone.

Hi, thanks for the info! I know that the free version is pretty slow (10 Mbps). How fast is this pro version?
Thanks!
[-] ruralcricket | 3 points
I only have 30mb/s down and it saturates it.

Please do not use this stavksocial website , it is shady and not good for your privacy!
While probably adequately private for most people, it's not as good as it could be. Look here for more information: https://torrentfreak.com/vpn-services-anonymous-review-2017-170304/
That said, if it's a one-time payment and you can afford it, it certainly can't be a disadvantage to never again have to worry about either getting to grips with crypto or having a potentially damaging (future laws could do anything) recurring VPN subscription payment in some more subpoenable payment service.

they don't keep logs, I'm not sure I see the issue
Well for just one example, spot the difference:
- Trust.Zone is under Seychelles jurisdiction and we operate according to law in Seychelles. There is no mandatory data retention law in Seychelles. In our jurisdiction a court order would not be enforceable and since we don’t store any logs , there is nothing to be taken from our servers. The company is operated by Extra Solutions Ltd.
or
- Windscribe is operated by Windscribe Limited, in Ontario, Canada, which has no data retention directives that apply to VPN companies.
Which of those places do you think is likely to start infringing on VPN autonomy sooner?

It's what I'm saying, they don't keep logs and nothing to give to the govt so what's the issue? Or am I stupid?
[-] ishadow2013 | 3 points
Or you could spent $20 extra dollars for a 2 year nord vpn subscription which is much better, also based in Panama, where piracy doesn't matter, and doesn't have any logs.
on the site is like 69 per year, can you tell me how to get the 2 years for 20...also, any idea about the speed ? thanks!
[-] I_cant_talk | 3 points
They said 20
you right, sorry about that...but still 69 for 1 year...would be good for 2 years tho
[-] brownix001 | 1 points
The thing with that one is until you add to cart it doesn't apply the price in a way to lure you to buy it.

Google "NordVPN 2 years discount"
Not sure why it's hidden, but if you google it reveals it self (like magic?).

Jeez... why couldn't you post this a little earlier ... jk
But I just bought a one year pro lite membership at mega. it was exactly 50 bucks xD
[-] ruralcricket | 5 points
I don't think that is a waste. I've tried both ProtonVPN and bought WindScribe. I think so many mega users are using these services that switching VPN endpoints doesn't always help as someone else has already leached a bunch.
Also, I think the megalinks PC client with start a download OVER if you switch IPs on it instead of completing the current download.
[-] ishadow2013 | 2 points
You bought a mega subscription? Do you upload or download?
I download. But I was kinda annoyed by the 5 gb download cap.
[-] ishadow2013 | 2 points
Just use a free vpn which changes your ip. Doing some math, to see when your download speed hits 5gbs, make an interval where it swaps servers every x minutes.
My NordVPN has this built into it.
Thanks. I'll keep this in mind for the next time :) But for now, I'll enjoy the luxury of not having to care about changing my ip.
[-] ishadow2013 | 1 points
:)

I have NordVPN too. Can u give me instructions on how to automatically change servers per a set amount of minutes plz?

VPNs like this are good if you do not torrent and are just concerned about your privacy if you use public wifi. If you do not torrent or do not deal in illegal (felony) things then this is a good deal. If you torrent or do "other stuff" like buying illegal firearms, drugs or are looking for a contract cleaner then I would say no and just pay for a VPN provider like PIA.
Personally I use VPN unlimited which is similar to Windscribe. But please do not evvvvver use a free VPN.
[-] KaiForceOne | 3 points
I love PIA.
[-] leave_it_blank | 1 points
I'm curious. I'm by far no expert, so why is torrenting a no go, but for privacy it's good? I don't have much experience with VPNs. Is it because Windshield is from the US (gag orders)?
[-] WrenchMonkey319 | 3 points
In my case my VPN does not have a kill switch. VPN Unlimited does allow torrents on select servers but the lack of a kill switch is something to be concerned about. Also my VPN does keep very basic logs which is another cause for concern if you torrent. PIA has a kill switch and does NOT keep any logs.
If you download the Windscribe desktop program it does have a killswitch.
[-] WrenchMonkey319 | 1 points
Well hell that is a plus to using it.
[-] leave_it_blank | 1 points
PIA? Is that the provider? I'm looking after having used tunnel bear for some time for an alternative.
[-] WrenchMonkey319 | 2 points
Yea it is called Private internet Access

A VPN Kill-Switch is a critical piece of your VPN security solution, and should be a top feature you look for in your search for the best torrent VPN. Also known as an Internet Kill Switch, this simple feature will make sure that your true IP address is never exposed online in the event of a dropped VPNconnection.
[-] LiquidAurum | 1 points
I might just jump on this, how is the speed?
[-] whywhywhyisthis | 1 points
How does this compare to Cyberghost Pro?
[-] LukeJohnta | 1 points
VPN's always throttle my download speed to hell. I'd be amazed if I found one that was actually half decent.
