This movie gives the phrase "Go Fuck Yourself" a whole new meaning

Predestination is so good.

YES! It's one of my favorite movies. Not gonna download it, since I already have it, but good job and thanks, @n0197exe

Ah yeah, same here; but thanks to /u/n0197exe for making it available for others.
In terms of really mind-bendy sci-fi (or maybe mind-bendy movies in general, though I guess a lot of those would be considered sci-fi), I can hardly think of movies I like better than Predestination.
I definitely like The Prestige just as much, or more. And things like Coherence and Edge of Tomorrow are fun, but not nearly as powerful as Predestination or The Prestige.

I never watched Coherence, since I downloaded and started watching it really late at night, so I gave up and went to sleep. Is it really that good? Nice taste! I'd recommend Moon, Donnie Darko, and definitely Mr Nobody, if you haven't watched them already. Source Code is good too, but no so much. And of course, Interstellar, but I assume you've already watched it at least twice.
Hahaha I didn't know how to tag someone, /u/koine_lingua (and I guess I still don't)

Coherence isn't perfect, but I think it's better than a lot of the other movies that are usually recommended along with it: Triangle, Primer, probably Timecrimes, etc. Plus I'm just a big sucker for the kind of realism and handheld-camera cinematography it uses.
I saw Mr. Nobody fairly recently, and honestly didn't really care for it. Same for Moon. Okay, I didn't think that either of them was bad -- just not as good as I expected (although I know I'm kind of in the minority on Moon). And it's been a really long time since I've seen Donnie Darko, but I liked it.
And yeah, Source Code wasn't bad -- though I basically think Edge of Tomorrow is to Source Code what Coherence is to, say, Triangle.

Hell yeah. coherence is much better than Primer, timecrimes, looper, Donnie Darko, source code. Triangle is still decent but i like Coherence more. Also none of them matched Predestination.

I didn't care for Predestination as much, but that's just my opinion. The Prestige and even Edge of Tomorrow seemed to make you think much more, making a second watch enjoyable. The entire premise of Predestination is just that... everything is predetermined. Closed-loop time travel don't make for the best sci-fi movies, imo, as they are predictable by nature. Hawkes performance was the only one I enjoyed and while the bleakness of the movie is probably done with intent, it makes it a turn off for me.

I'm definitely not the first person to ask about the finer details of the plot or especially about time-travel theory in general, but I remember getting the impression that Hawke's character thought that he could somehow break the cycle/loop. (At the very minimum, at the end he didn't seem to necessarily rule it out, even if he's not totally optimistic: "Can we change our futures? I don't know.")
And despite the fact that a lot of messed-up stuff happened, I came away from the movie feeling hopeful. Especially in the final moments, I certainly think that's the feeling the directors wanted us to come away with (considering the hopeful/expectant music, etc.).
