I noticed some graphical distortions in the first episode (what I've downloaded so far):
http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/216746
Looks like either the encode settings or the source video had decomb turned
Thanks for the feedback. I didn't notice this.
I still have access to the BluRays, so a re-encode would be possible, but not very soon.
However, these distortions shouldn't be all that prevalent, with this being from a 3D quick-motion, which is not that common in the show.

No problem :D We all appreciate your effort, so thank you.
[-] OkayDragon | 1 points
Is this the only example where this distortion is in?
[-] [deleted] | 1 points
I only watched the first 2 minutes; there might be more, I simply do not know. If you're interested, I'm able to upload my version of the first episode for comparison.
[-] OkayDragon | 1 points
Ooh, can you do that? I'd love to see it!

I have never used 1ficher so I have to ask: There is a limit in terms of downloadspeed because u mentioned something about a free account for faster downloading, but is there also a limit as to how much I can download or is the amout of data no problem and I can still get everything from there without an account as long as I am patient enough?
There is a daily limit, just like with Mega, but it's higher. Download speed doubles with a free account (just use a dummy email to register) and the daily limit is higher, so you can download more.
I'm not exactly sure, what the limit is and there are happy hours without limit, so you can download everything if you're patient enough.

I see, thanks for the info!! I'm assuming the downloads can be continued once a day passes so I will probably go for this mirror without an account for now :)

You're an angel, thanks!

could you make this into a torrent? there are no good torrents for the legend of korra
Sorry, I don't do torrents, ever. I'm also currently working on an improved version of this release.
[-] JustSpeedy | 1 points
thats sad, cus torrents are way quicker to download than mega.
what will be different with the improved version?
Torrents are only faster if enough people seed it.
The improved version will have commentary tracks and I did a new encode without decomb, because that created some artifacting.

When will you release the improved version? I just finished The Last Airbender and it was awesome. I'm searching for a good quality Korra release.
edit: Also x265 would be great if possible
Probably early next week, I'm a little busy with other stuff atm.
Sadly I don't do x265, but I can provide the full BluRay discs instead to anyone interested in doing an x265 of their own.

You can skip season 4 altogether plotwise. Great quality!
1, 3, and 4 are all amazing.
[-] whitesteveharvey | 1 points
I agree with this, the writers of the show admitted season 2 was terrible.
[-] atomizer123 | 1 points
That being said- there is a very essential story arc of the first Avatar, Wan in the second season that is essential to understanding the overall show. I woudn't necessarily skip S2 either- even if it is the weakest of the Avatar series.
[-] whitesteveharvey | 1 points
Oh I'd definitely not skip it either. Honestly Wan and the battle between Raava and Vatu was the only thing that made that season somewhat interesting for me.
[-] TheAndrewBen | 2 points
You didn't like season 4?
