Isn't this a direct download? Why is it so slow?
Because it's a high-demand direct download? I think torrents are faster when there are lots of people participating (unless maybe if there is some kind of bad ratio like only 1 seed and all the leechers are at 0%), whereas direct downloads would get slower as popularity increases, assuming there is a limited number of servers.

You guys are so fast... You need some kind of award tbh.

Here.
EDIT: It's not a fucking virus. Dude I literally just took the file made a multi-part rar from it and uploaded it. Why do you think it's a virus? And the reason it's a fresh account is because I just today made a throwaway for uploading stuff. Not replying because I don't have enough karma to.

See edit. Why on earth do you think it's a virus?

You didn't even read the edit...I just made this account I know. But did you actually look at the file? It's not an exe it's impossible for it to be a virus. Could you maybe verify your claims instead of making assumptions? How am I supposed to gain credibility without uploading stuff? Have you considered that every account has some beginning?

EDIT: it's not a fucking virus. It's a multipart rar file. Extract it and you'll see it's just an mkv.

What's the difference between this one and the WEB h-264tbs one? They're both 1080p so why is this bigger?

[-] odellusv2 | 17 points | Jul 24 2017 02:21:26
higher bitrate of course. the amazon rips are the highest quality we'll have before the bluray release.

I watch last week's 1.5 gb episode on a big TV, and it looked great. Is there anything extra in this one?

[-] nuwan32 | 12 points | Jul 24 2017 03:40:38
If you look at last weeks episode, wherever there were lots of motion frames, like snowing scenes, there were tons of jaggies and squares. This is due to not having a high enough bitrate, so compression artifacts become visible. The AMZN WEBRip is the highest quality Web-DL you can get, and has much better quality at the same resolution. You can tell this easily when looking at faces, they seem more defined and motion scenes do not suffer from compression artifacts.

Can confirm, those snow scenes looked incredibly jagged on hd monitor...I downloaded the 1.6 gb one last week. Downloading the 3.5 gb one right now, hopefully should see a difference.

well if you have a good eye you might notice some scenes look sharper and more defined. not everyone can notice however.

[-] ynotrhyme | 2 points | Jul 24 2017 05:59:09
is the difference really noticeable w higher bitrates? i see one at 4000 and the amazon is at 15k. im all about quality

This 3.6GB was decent for me, only time I saw some artifacts was during some dark scenes, the snow parts weren't that bad like last weeks episode.

[-] odellusv2 | 1 points | Jul 24 2017 07:42:04
absolutely, especially in this show because it has lots of high contrast and high movement scenes. 3.6 GB honestly is already pretty bad for an hour of 1080p, there's still quite a bit of visible artifacting, ideally it would be closer to 8 GB. but yeah, 1.5 GB for an hour of 1080p is abysmal. that's bad even for standard HD.

[-] ynotrhyme | 1 points | Jul 24 2017 22:24:17
so what do you think about hevc then coming in at 1080p and 400mb?
permalink
[-] odellusv2 | 1 points | Jul 24 2017 22:27:32
terrible. x265 is, in the most ideal circumstances, ~~40%~~ 22% more efficient than x264. that means that for a 3.6 GB x264 rip, an x265 encode would need to be ~~2.1~~ 2.8 GB at bare minimum (this is slightly off because audio is included in those sizes and i'm too lazy to obtain the video bitrates of each) to have comparable quality.
edit: scratch that, there was a study done that concluded that x265 is 22% more efficient than x264 for the same quality.
